Nice summary of the tnets after each game.

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

one mishandled onside kick away from throwing away a game that should have stayed well in hand. The fact that we DIDN'T mishandle it doesn't make that any less true.

Ok, Donnie Downer. So we lose if they recover the on side kick.

Yes. Which is why every team should always onside kick. You automatically win if you convert one. It’s like grabbing the golden snitch.

No, we lose because we had shown NO ability to stop them

late in the game. The defense had folded the tents and left the building prematurely. Momentum is a real, although unseen, thing.

We have had so many games the last 5 years where momentum

was flowing strongly against us over the last couple of minutes, but the opponent simply could not close the deal.

Lamar Jackson couldn’t do it.

Notre Dame couldn’t do it.

Malik Cunningham couldn’t do it.

There are several other examples ... all contributing to our current rather historic WINNING streak, both at home and overall.

There is absolutely NO reason to just assume a successful onside kick leads to a TD last Saturday night. In fact recent performances by our D would say the exact opposite.

I’m curious if you remember the 2015 ACC Championship game. A phantom offside negated a successful onside kick by UNC. And it was, unquestionably, a terrible call. UNC rallied from way behind. They scored touchdowns on 3 of their final 4 possession and were only stopped on the one drive by a lost fumble. Should we concede that game? Because they should have gotten the ball back and they had proven themselves even more efficient on offense (against a Venables defense no less ?) than we were on Saturday. Louisville was intercepted in the end zone on what would have been a game winning pass that season. ND attempted a 2 or conversion that would have forced ot and also attempted an onside kick that would have left them only needing a fg to win. Somehow we made the CFP, advanced to the final, and played Bama within a touchdown. Did you feel equally nihilistic about that season?
