What people don’t realize is that 10 win seasons, 11 win seasons, and you know even a 9 win season, they all mean you stayed in contention for your conference. If you put a bunch of them in a row, that’s a great program and the coach is the reason.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t care what conference we’re in, I just want to be relevant in it. And competing for the spot in the conference championship year in and year out.

If you stay relevant in your conference, you stay relevant for what is now a 12-team playoff.
Do you realize how much the CFP will expand?
More teams will get in. It’s inevitable expansion. You should just want to stay winning. Whether if it’s 10 or 13.

If Cade can figure it out from here great, but he has not turned out to be consistent. Not yet. And it’s just another waiting period. If that were the case and Cade does not drastically improve.

I am sure Dabo will find a good QB soon. And everything could go back to that level. Again, if Cade cannot.

These doom and gloom posts are ridiculous.

This fear that we will be bad if Dabo leaves is unfounded.

And yes, I remember what it was like with Hatfield and West. We were not very good for most of the 90s. People like to suggest that we were bad because Danny left, but that isn’t true. We were bad because our administration made a bad hire followed by a horrible hire.

When Dabo is no longer our coach, we will have a decision to make. It will be very important. If we make a great hire, we will be fine.

Of course there are risks in making a coaching change. But there are also risks in keeping a coach when the program is declining.

Dabo should not be fired, and I don’t want him to leave. But he does need to change some things to stop this five year slide we are on. If he doesn’t, we will find ourselves outside of ACC championship contention and that would be a huge shame - and it would be his doing.

For what we spend on our program, our reputation for being a good program, and our relatively easy path to being an ACC contender, we would have little problem getting another good coach.
