and I think the reason it even generated buzz was because it was attributed to "SI.com".
What most people don't realize though is that SI.com now includes Fan Nation team pages. This isn't the nationally respected Sports Illustrated of yesteryear. SI cut most of its actual writers, editors, and those with credentials back in 2019. What we have now is "fan run sites" that essentially provide highly biased "message board chatter" with no actual sources.
If you look at the article, the author has under 1,000 twitter followers, so it's extremely unlikely he has many legitimate sources. I am skeptical if the writer even has a degree in Journalism as he seems to struggle with commas. He may not even be paid (or if he is, it's very little).

I've noticed for quite a while that the quality of SI content has dropped off significantly. They are poorly written articles, and often they don't even convey any "news".
I was a subscriber for years a long time ago and was always excited to get the next publication in the mail. Especially that one special one...which has now also gone to *&$#%.
