will be replaced. Spiller and Luke may be the only survivors.

What have you seen from Spiller that warrants keeping him?

Well, he did turn a WR into nearly a 100 yd/game back through 4 games…

He didn’t turn Randall into anything. He’s not a RB. He’s a big body who Swinney saw fit to transition into said position. He’s slow, has less than average technique and doesn’t run very well for his size. He’s not dishing out hits.
If Spiller was worth ANYTHING as a coach, he would have the other ACTUAL RBs (4/5 stars) ready and developed. He’s hasnt. And from what I’ve seen, he won’t.

I mean…. You didn’t refute the fact that he is averaging 100/YPG. If ONE thing isn’t the issue the past 4 years on offense, it’s the running back room.

There’s no need to refute it. What did he do against LSU which had an actual defense? He’s done what he has against subpar defenses. With his size and opposing competition he should be doing that. It doesn’t mean he’s a RB though. Because he’s not.

He touched the ball 5 times and the team ran 11 rushing plays. LSU is not even applicable.

AR has already become a good pass protector.
He recognizes holes in the other team’s pass defence zone, and sneaks into open spots … and catches the ball very well (better than Shipley did, and far better than Mafah).
AR has a ways to go as far as ball security; don’t forget that Shipley was something of a fumbler in his first two years as #1 RB. Experience is what he needs, and he needs to keep getting that experience (I.e., keep running the ball).
Did you notice EZ today? I noticed that he was less effective than AR. G.Davidson has been underwhelming as a true FR RB (that isn’t to suggest that he will end up in,y being average), but as of yet he’s done nothing to earn RB #1 or RB #2 snaps.
(*). If the coaches start the rebuild process during the off-week, then I’m all-in on getting G.Davidson and (more of) EZ a bunch of snaps … along with Vizz and Denson.

And to my point, any actual offensive staff with a pulse, especially at the RB coach position, would have developed and/or used the ACTUAL recruited RBs in game instead of attempting to use make a subpar WR RB1. None of it makes logical sense. I mean, it does once you see the glaring issues at MOST of the coaching positions on the offensive side of the ball.

You are wrong, not about Spiller but about Randall. Dude has about 40% of APY for last 3 games. He has half the TDs. Randall is a big body but he actually finds openings. He had 8.1yds per carry today and is over 6ypc for season. Its all the bad passes and missed blocks from rest of offense or I think his numbers would be even better.

Agreed on Randall. Problem is the coaches give up on him around the 50 yard line.

I’m not advocating for taking him out as he’s produced results. But other actual RBs should get carries too. Not when it’s “too late” so to speak or when a player messes up. But again, I argue his production against who we’ve played. Anybody should be able to do what he’s done against the teams we’ve played. (Minus LSU)

Not true. He’s freshman Derrick Henry but a better blocker & receiver. Our offense would be 30 points a game better if he carried 25-30 times per game and we ran play cutoff that. It’s the opposite of what we are doing now.

If he’s Derrick Henry I’m Trevor Lawrence. And I’m pretty much bald so that’s not the case. Again, look at what he’s done against who we’ve played.

AR is developing rapidly (in a very good way) as he accumulates snaps. Blocking is already impressive. Understanding how and where to go as a third-option pass catcher … he’s stellar at that (D.Henry did not have that skill).
AR needs improvement at ball security. Same as what Shipley needed; it took Shipley two seasons before I considered him to be trustworthy as for ball security. AR will be better at ball security after another two games than what Shipley was after 2 full seasons.

Not in today's Professional League of College Football. Same goes for the players, there is no time for development you either have it or you don't and you cut bait.
