The issue isnt portal or NIL

The issue is completely because of coaching. I don’t think there’s a single player on our roster who has truly gotten better in their time at Clemson. We just don’t develop anyone

True. Very true as far as this team.

Hence, why we need to use the portal. Will Heldt and Tristian Smith both look like ballers.

But we don’t use the portal because we think we do…

NIL and transfer portal absolutely plays a role. It’s not the whole story, but it’s definitely part of the story.

I guess you overlook we outgained them 503 to 433. There is blame on the offense, there is blame on the defense and blame on the coaches and bottom line, we just are not getting it done.

You mean the yards we gained when the game was over already? Not to mention that Syracuse lost their starting QB

So I’ve seen for years and how different Clemson is because we don’t cut players like the SEC. We pour into them and honor their scholarship until they’re done. What most people are proposing now is that we forget the Clemson values and become like everyone else. I, for one am not okay with that. We aren’t good at all right now. But it isn’t NIL and portal. Rewatch the game. It was all execution!

Ding ding ding !!! Been saying it , yes Riley is it very good and Cade has been terrible but why… bc we have a bunch of coaches with no experience trying to develop players and it shows they are not developing at all !!

########. It might be a part, but nil is also a major part. No fire. Players are being paid and who cares. Take their money for poor performance and let's see what happens.

The truth is many if not most players don't "develop" once they are done growing. Beyond just adding muscle mass, you can't make these kids into something they are not. If we want to win we have to hire talent developed elsewhere, because the odds of becoming great and/or NFL tier breaks down something like this: 5 star: 1 in 10 4 star: 1 in 20 3 star: 1 in 50
Romantic notions of home-grown heroes notwithstanding, our coaches are not going to beat these numbers, they are provided by a higher power. What we can do, is let smaller, lower budget schools weed out the ones that are not going to make it and cherry pick their winners. That is what the entire top 25 is doing that Clemson is not.
