Obama: I won’t make churches conduct gay marriages

Oh, Thanks be to Herr Obama. The compassionate Herr Obama spares us and will allow us to practice religion to a certain extent. We will still be subject to the IRS giving its approval, and we will still be under the watchful spying eye of the NSA and the FBI. Wonder what else he won't make us do? Ordain atheist pastors and priests?

I like how the article presents that statement as a quote instead of something the author made up

The Actual Quote
Jun 26, 2013, 9:22 PM
|
|
“How religious institutions define and consecrate marriage has always been up to those institutions. Nothing about this decision — which applies only to civil marriages — changes that.”
I don't see anything wrong with that. You can feel however you want to feel about the president, but it is stupid to constantly go around misrepresenting what people say.

Even if he did say just that

(and he didn't), but even if he did, what do you find objectionable about it?
I suppose if you took it to mean that he feels he won't (but had the power to) force churches to do something then sure get in a fuss about it. But I don't see anything that would say he feels that way.
In the end churches don't have to marry gay folks. They don't have to ordain gay folks. They don't have to welcome gay folks. They don't have to stop preaching homosexuality is a sin. And I've seen nothing from the president that implies he wants to (or feels he can) change that.
The NSA and IRS issues are real issues that need to be handled, but don't let your dislike for the man and his presidency cloud your thoughts into making him the evil boogie-man

What difference does it make at this point, anyhow?
If he did say it, liberals would defend it and support it. You know it and I know it. He has forced churches to furnish their employees with condoms against their religious beliefs. Forcing them to conduct same sex marriages is on the horizon if they want to remain a tax free organization.

"What difference does it make?"

It makes every difference in the world when you are being dishonest with a person's words. You do your argument a grave disservice when called by responding with flippancy toward the truth when you are called out for being thoroughly inaccurate.

What difference does it make now? If that response is good enough to flip off the death of an Ambassador and some CIA types in Benghazi by the SOS, it should be good enough to flip off a tnetter. Besides, you two and others, need to take it up with the person who wrote the headline to the article. Why do you think I posted the link to the article. Quit being sanctimonious. And Obama thinks he is a dictator, so the headline fits his persona to a tee.

Says the man posting the article here in clear support of his views.
Defend your views with the truth. Lord knows there is enough there to do so. You do yourself, and your arguments, a disservice being flippant with the truth.
Where in my post do you think I was being sanctimonious? I'm not arguing I'm morally superior to anyone, anywhere. What I am saying, though, is that the truth is valuable and being loose with it is no way debate.

Obama Says Being A Dictator Is Tempting

and the group cheers him on to be a dictator. So, yes, when Obama forces churches to perform gay marriages, there will be lots of cheering from liberals. And who can say that he will not do it?

I mean, it could happen. Is that the sort of game you're playing? Saying something will happen, and then saying, well you don't know it could happen because you don't know the future. Good work.
