Got to watch their spring game and he surprised me. Spring games are glorified practices, but he looks the part.
Really interested to see how he does against Derek Mason's defense @ Vandy in the 1st game.
Mason can coach the heck out of a defense, and can confuse QB's with the best of them. So we will find out real quick.

McElwain looks pretty good, and their fresh receiver Edwards looks the part, in my opinion. They can only do so much as freshman tho cause neither one of them as taken the field as a college player, not one snap. Their running back situation is shaky, unless again, one of their true freshman running backs, is decent. I don't see this team getting anymore than 5-6 wins.

You can't invest much in a non-contact performance against an abysmal defense. The biggest takeaway from that game was the hilarity of Muschamp overruling a holding penalty to gift-wrap his offense a TD. I almost felt embarrassed for them.

The rules of their spring game would allow anyone to shine. There was no blitzing, only a 5 man rush was allowed. Also, it was all base zone defense. It makes it really easy for a qb to know where to throw the ball when he knows what formation the defense is going to be in, and with no blitzing. Sc fans still know nothing about mcillwein other than he can't hit a curve ball.
