and content amounts give us less for more- and I swear I just bought a tube of toothpaste that is half full of air- tube is really flexible but I guess I would have to squeeze all the paste out to get to the air at the other end to prove it is only half full

Bags of ice have been that way for some time now. You used to be able to get a twenty pound bag at the store. Now it’s sixteen.

and says the mfg'ers would rather cheat with less content in bag or box than come out and state the obvious.
1/2 gallon of Ice Cream now hardly gets me full.

I think the only ice cream that is still a full half gallon is Blue Bell - at least around here

Blue Bell and Publix around here! And I think Braum's out in

the midwest is still a half gallon. If you haven't tried the Publix brand, you're missing out on some good ice cream! One reason I never buy Breyer's, besides it being just average quality...I think they were about the first brand to reduce their box size, first to 1.75 quarts, then soon after to one and a half quarts!

Food Lion cheapest around. Publix crazy expensive on Ice Cream unless its on sale. I'm not sure I have ever had a bad brand of ice cream. Like sex it's all good. lol.

Same thing at restaurants and food portions. Not really concerned about the price increase as much as I want my d@mn plate filled up as it was before.

Maybe restaurants ought to have small, medium and large plate sizes…with a higher price of course. I don’t mind paying more to get more, but feel cheated when they cut the quantity down.

and still yet America is suffering from an obesity epidemic. Especially after Covid. This is a huge contributor to all other illnesses that follow. There is a noticeable reduction in size of many things. Cereal immediately comes to mind for me. They used to reduce the size rather than raise the price. Now they reduce the size and increase the price

That's been going on forever with package sizes.

Cereal has always been a classic perpetrator in this area. Scaling down box sizes at the same price then 'whammo' a big and large family size to up the price and reset the scaling back down through the ranges.
Gas, milk, and eggs generally tell the real tale as their quantities are largely fixed sizes, so pricing remains 1:1 mostly.

Jack Daniels has just introduced a new bourbon in a 700 ml bottle rather than the standard 750
