The truth about the defense if you aren't delusional....

They are about the same as last year. Out of position on nearly every play, shooting the wrong gaps (woodazz is a liability here), can't tackle (woodazz is also a liability here), one of our DBs was getting dog walked up and down the field and responded by commiting numerous pass interference penalties, undisciplined on misdirection plays

LSU was taunting us by running the same screen play out of the same formation for 3 straight downs and we never stopped it

Also, who is Peter Woods and Xavier Thomas ? I heard hype all off-season and they were terrible. Defensive line never got pressure the entire game

It was very very bad and anyone saying it's much improved is putting on some kind of self soothing routine to make themselves feel better

One last thing, the score should've actually been 24-10.

I'm sorry if that hurts some feelings but it's true

To be fair, the issues he’s referring to have been present since Xavier’s time, so a cut and paste probably saves time.

If you know nothing about football please don’t speak on it. The dline didn’t get pressure because of the gameplan LSU ran. No team will get pressure when a team is averaging less than 3 seconds a throw. The defense gave up 17 points to the best offense we will see on our regular schedule. You can spin it however you want to spin it. Last season the 3 SEC teams we played averaged over 6 yards a carry. Last night LSU averaged 3.6. The defense won the turnover battle and not on fluky plays. I as good plays made by the defense. Perfectly time punches and rips of the ball. The game 100% lies on the offense.

Then the defense had 8 tackles for loss. With Wade having the most at 2. LSU only had 4.

And I figure you don’t want to debate analytics you just want to spout garbage on here. They ran the same play 4 times. 3 times to the left then a variation of it to the right. The last two went for a today so of -5 yards. Sounds like they stopped it. Which led to LSU punting and giving the off use a chance to tie it.

FSU and Louisville will be the best offenses this team sees this year, might throw SMU up there too.

Not even close. You are letting your emotions control your thoughts. We may play down to competition. But we will not see skill players like we saw last night. Brown is the fastest player in college football. Anderson is in the top 10 of fastest players in college football. FSU has a running qb but none of those teams have a running back the caliber of Durham. And none of them have a pure qb as we played last night. Maybe a more athletic qb.

I must be delusional…. They played well enough to win against a top ten team with an nfl qb

First game of the year under a new system. Lower your expectations. I thought the defense looked good considering what they were up against. Great skill players, good RBs, and a future 1st round pick at QB.

It was better. They will also improve throughout the year as well.

Thats hilarious. The defense last would have been gashed for 500+ yds

The defense was very good, holding them to nearly 100 yds below last years average. That means they weren’t out of position. They were getting off the blocks up front and they covered well in the secondary. They didn’t allow LSU to run at will like Texas did.

They looked nothing like last year. Not one bit.

They CLEARLY played well enough to win against a very potent offense.

And no, it wasn’t 24-10 nor should it have been.
