Probability that we see Cade with the 1st team O

Against Furman? Even if the game is “in hand”. It would be interesting to see him get a couple of series with the 1st team just to see the chemistry with Ngata, Collins, Shipley, etc. But I recognize that is a risky move for the coaching staff from a media and locker room management perspective.

The staff started substituting liberally on the D side...

of the ball really early in the game on Monday. This is a little more delicate issue, but it would not surprise me to see CK play early and often in the first half. That said, it would not surprise me if he doesn't play at all in the first half.

That’s where I’m at too. I could see it going either way and not being surprised. I’d love to see it. I hope DJ does well but I also want to see more of Cade even if it is to get a glimpse of the future.

Dabo wants to delay the QB "controversy" until Wake Forest

week, so I don't think Cade gets more than 2-3 series before Hunter Johnson gets in. I could see him getting possibly one series with the ones, but probably not.
Cade will get more significant playing time against La Tech.

Should be interesting to see. I'm not so sure I'd count on Dabo shying away from a QB controversy. Dabo had no issue with Lawrence and Bryant sharing snaps and Bryant had invested more time and energy and was more successful than DJ. If Dabo thinks they are close, I would fully expect to see several drives with the ones.
On the other hand... Bryant's situation was more urgent. If Dabo had waited one more week, Bryant would have played 4 games and had zero options to pay somewhere else where he might start. His career was over. Instead, Dabo made the announcement that Trevor would be first out after 3 games. No idea if it was intentional or not, but it gave Bryant the ability to weigh his options and make a decision based on the fact it was obvious Trevor was going to eventually take the spot. In DJ's case he could transfer and play same year, and he still has another year anyway. Not as much urgency if you are trying to right by the team AND the player.

I’ve thought about that too. KB2 / TLaw felt pressed due to transfer timeline. Whew. There was some drama that week.

We will see plenty of Cade against Furman.
If the wheels falls off while DJ plays, then delaying the "controversy" is not an option. The issue becomes getting Cade up to speed as quickly as possible.
Even if DJ struggles, we should be able to just run the ball and put up a lot of points in the 1st half. Cade will have several series in the 2nd half while Hunter gets a couple to finish up.
Best case is Cade playing the 1st half. It's quite possible if DJ is sharp and the score gets out of hand early.

If DJ can do his job and we score on our first three possessions, I think we see Cade on the 4th.

I think we see Cade on 3rd or 4th series regardless. And I think that makes sense.

We'll see how Dabo plays it, but it should be 100%. Get some apple and apple comparisons.

No good reason to play your starter 2nd half vs. Furman.

If The offense doesn’t have 28 pts by half time we will probably see Cade the rest of the game.
