Its really gotten out of control ... solution
Each conference champion goes to the playoff ... period
Now, with PAC-12 dead, Independent is a Conference ? silly ... we really only have NINE conferences.
That means 9 teams, each Conference Champion goes to the playoff, just like in Basketball
Now, there are worthy teams that should be in the playoffs. There will be SEVEN of those, who goes depends on rankings.
16 Team playoff
Now as for NIL. Forget it. Its stupid. Now, if company wants to pay a kid to advertise their French Fry's that's ok. But its done independently. Its a private business transaction. Schools have no say in that, again its a private thing.
As for ESPN ? Since each Conference Champ goes, all Conferences will have some degree of leverage. ESPN will need to cover all playoff contenders. Really, and ESPN is not the only game in town. You got a slew of others who would love to cover. Shame on the schools for being the female dog of ESPN.
Transfer Portal ? Transfer Rules ? keep. With each Conference Champion going to the playoffs it will create parity. Kid can play in any Conference and could end up in the playoffs.
Gawt what a good idea.

with some Conferences being more equal than others. That will be reflected in the "wildcards" ... we all know that in all probability most of the wildcards will come from the so called P4 or P5 or whatever ... but, all Conference winners go to the Playoff, period. It is complete arrogance, almost CNN like, to say a team from the Mountain West would NEVER beat a team from say, the SEC, just because thr SEC has more players on work release ?
That is a problem in college football today, arrogance.

Better solution. Like baseball did after the black socks scandal, appoint a commissioner and he/she has the last word on everything!
