I don't think so. I don't think anyone knows Clemson as CU or the Tigers...those could be multiple teams, Princeton, Auburn, LSU and Missouri all use the tigers and CU could be Connecticut, Colorado, California. You are identified as a program when someone says Clemson. In reality Clemson "is" Clemson, CU and the tigers. South Carolina is South Carolina, USC, Carolina which could mean several teams also ( in reality only 2 others as opposed to many ). The only difference is when you say "the Gamecocks"...everyone knows you are talking about South Carolina. That is unique no matter what you say.....To be called anything except South Carolina or the Gamecocks would cause confusion but much less confusion than saying CU or the tigers. So the REAL tigers are LSU, Missouri, Auburn, and many others and the REAL CU is California, Connecticut and others. See ...that's not an insult in any way shape or form....college football fans...gotta love em...

Connecticut is UCONN or UC. California is UC as in UC Berkley or UC Davis or UC...LA.
I don't know what the rest of your point is, but USC is in California and the Gamecocks are in Jacksonville, AL.

You obviously don't know much about college sports, do you? Like it's already been beaten to death: Connecticut is UCONN (The University of Connecticut), California is Cal (University of California) and Colorado is just Colorado (University of Colorado). But I'm curious, how could Carolina be referred to several teams? When you say Carolina, it just depends on which side of the line you're on. It's either North Carolina or South. Coastal Carolina doesn't refer to themselves as that (just Coastal), NC State never would (NC State or State), East Carolina, Western Carolina... nobody but the two Universities of North/South Carolina refer to themselves as Carolina.

We're Clemson. It's a brand. It's catchy. And we, unlike you, do not take a backseat to anyone, especially californians or north carolinians

like Clemson fans care about "CU"? Aside from using it as shorthand on the internet, no one at Clemson thinks that we are the "real" CU. And that's fine. We're Clemson.
And if you can't see why Clemson fans find it funny that South Carolina fans call themselves USC and Carolina, when everyone in the other 49 states think those terms are for Southern Cal and UNC, I can't help you!

The point was....I don't think of us as USC or Carolina and don't want to. We are South Carolina. That is the way most Gamecock fans see it so to think the real USC or real Carolina is something you "think" bothers South Carolina fans its just not so. It really doesn't bother us at all.

Only care that y'all dominate South Carolina in an overall record and the streak is just a fluke but can't stop talking about the loss and how to atone for it. It literally eats most of you up inside. I could care less what we are called, the people who matter know who we are.
Ps the lawsuit was over a designed logo that both southern cal and South Carolina used. Not the actual name.
