The problem with journalism: Sports Edition

If you haven’t heard Deon Sanders’ team won their division. However, after the game the players decided they would plant their flag on the home teams field in an effort to humiliate their competitors. A move that lacks both class and good sportsmanship.
Now, 90% of the articles you read about this will paint that picture just as I have a classless bunch of bad winners. But wait! The one “sports outlet” that paints a different tale? SI. That’s right. Instead of calling a duck a duck. SI writers decide to publish a heroic gush story of how Deon is the greatest coach of all time and his sons are the best players who should be given trophies for their in-game heroics.
https://www.si.com/college/2021/11/14/deion-sanderss-sons-game-winning-plays-perfect-heroics-to-tigers-division-titleIt's been eight years since JSU felt the glory of winning the SWAC East division.
This kind of blinding twisted journalism is destroying society.

Yep, we are seeing it everywhere. The trick is to realise that it's just a perspective. Unfortunatly there are a lot of people that just blindly believe what they hear and that when it justifies their worldview the believe it to be true.

You’re twisting your mind into a weak woke position. Thinking way too much. Some guys played a football game, one team won, one team lost, like most games. Some low rent guys posted a flag on the field afterwards. There’s really no more story here than that. You’re gonna have to go find some woke liberal rag if you want to see a story about the indecency of planting a flag on the field post game. Move on.

Doesn’t impact my feelings at all. But you revealed your reality, it seems there a batch of people in this country that are worried about Brandon, or flags being planted on the field or other weak snowflake nonsense. The rest of us are going about living our lives. Sorry snowflake, hope things get better for ya.

Things are going swell for me there snowflake. I am sorry for you though as your snowflake mentality keeps getting hung up on random TNET poasters who have obviously achieved more success in their lives than you will ever see from your trailer window. But hey good news for you snowflake. The weather is turning cold so you wont melt. Hope things get better for you. I know milk and eggs can be hard to come by for a snowflake with your salary.

Wow, sounds like BIGHOUSE got you all wound up, sort of like your original post, you got all wound up because some guys put a flag on the field after a game, seems like you want to correct everybody’s wrongs. Good luck with that.

Thanks! Best of luck to you as well. I know it’s hard work trying find ways to justify the sad little poor life you have lived. So now you attempt to put down random people on an internet sports forum to boost your self confidence. Good luck with that!

I don’t know who Brandon is, I don’t know if he is left or right, I don’t spend much time on social media aside from the cesspool of Tigernet, why does anybody care if Brandon is going or not going.

Yes, you do. You know context, the origin of the phrase, and who & what the phrase is referencing. So adamantly declaring your ignorance as to the meaning of the phrase.....Might as well have confessed to voting for Biden-

Totally agree.
Also not surprised about Sanders, Deon Sanders and class don't go together.

I didn’t watch the game, so I don’t know if JSU played in a low rent manner throughout the game, but planting a flag In the opponents dirt is definitely low class. Coach prime is certainly not teaching his players life lessons, and we’ll see how that culture plays out as he “builds” his program.
But ……. If you don’t want your opponent to put a flag in your turf, beat them. Eat what you kill.
As for the SI article, again I didn’t watch the game, so don’t know if it’s an accurate representation of what happened during the game, but on the surface it seems like article that focuses on the football game, which makes a whole lotta sense.
An article written by a bunch of light footed left woke snowflakes crying about a flag at the end of the game would’ve been much more of an indication of deterioration of society by whining pansies. Man up!
Karma is a female dog, JSU will get what’s coming to them at some point.

Maybe you should bring your grievances to the attention of the ACLU.

I think they chose something different to focus on which you clearly do not agree with.

Run jump catch, I suggest you correct this horrible wrong. Start a movement. Cancel Deon and all football teams that plant flags on the field after away games. You can be a true patriot by pursuing this. Think about how much stronger the country will be. Let’s go run jump catch!

Didn’t Oklahoma do this Ohio State in 2017?
Nov 14, 2021, 8:08 PM

I didn’t see a bunch of comments calling Lincoln Riley classless at the time. He even brushed it off when asked about it stating that Baker Mayfield was just an emotional guy and it was just a heat of the moment thing. Nobody questioned Lincoln Riley’s integrity or class. Why the double standard with Deion Sanders?

I think a lot of folks did say baker was a low rent punk, I thought that way, and I don’t remember exactly but I think u might be right regarding Lincoln Riley, I don’t remember people calling him out, but I might be wrong, I forget lots of things.
Either way, I see no reason for the OP to criticize SI for writing an article that didn’t mention what the JSU players did. I’d rather read an article about football than read about folks whining about a flag.

It shows Deion’s true character to allow his team to plant their flag on a team the defeated. It shows The coaches or the players know how to win with class. But Karma always gets its revenge.
I hope Neon Deion goes to TCU. This will be a true test of the awesome coaching skills that he likes to touts about himself. IMO TCU would be a bad job for most Anybody but Deion. Sanders will find out TCU is not the easiest place to win consistently. Maybe he is just chasing the money.
I believe it would be a bad move for Tony Elliot or any quality coach who has aspirations to become a successful winning HC.
