It's cool and all, but not CU style. I would have to go with no. The only idea that I would support is if we were to go with the current Helmet UT with colors flipped. White dome, orange pay, orange stripe with two purple in the middle....... Would be cool on the road with the taking care of business suit.

H3ll YEAH! Hey, just 1/2 a man's little opinion, but I like it and would support THAT 100%! I like tradition as much as the next guy, but I think it's cool, and only CLEMSON can sport THE PAW in chrome and still BE clemson...honestly, it IS a nice compromise...I don't WANT to be Oregon, but I don't want to be Alabama's BORING @ss either...

I think for a bowl game it'd be kind of neat. But when you start doing that crazy alt-uniform stuff too often, (1) it begins to detract from the "special" feel of it, and (2) you become more like Oregon/Phil Knight. And lord knows nobody wants that

Too much change leaves openings for questioning uniform combinations.

The DBs of who we played with that helmet would't have to look back for the ball b/c they would have the advantage of using our helmets for a rear view mirror. That wouldn't be fair!!!

It is really more unique to leave it alone at this point IMO. So many teams the past couple of years have experimented and came out with all kinds of crazy different combo's and colors that Clemson now deciding to join the fray would just seem like they are following a trend. You want to be a trend setter not a follower in college football. Leaving the helmets and uniforms untouched shows much more tradition and uniqueness than anything new they could come up with. We wear purple on military appreciation day, and orange pants when we mean business and that's the only uniform variations we need. Let the winning make people look at Clemson, not some flashy helmet.

But am opposed to changing our helmet in general. And this is from a person who loves seeing us in purple jerseys (every now and then).
While I'm not 100%, forever dead-set against an occasional special helmet, it would have to be a REALLY good design/occasion for it. As someone has already said, it's almost more trendy now NOT to change one's helmet. It is beginning to set apart the old teams of tradition from teams who are searching for new trendy traditions. And then there's the occasional outlier like Notre Dame, who has no reason whatsoever to ever change their helmets but they've gone ahead and done it several times anyway...usually to their detriment.

And I'm an "old" dude.
I love the fact Clemson sticks to the traditional unis although purple to me is relatively new. However a lot of schools with traditional unis have switched things up for one game. Georgia, UCLA, Notre Dame, GT, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin are a few off the top of my head.

These with the all purple unis would be the best option under the lights. I think y'all who oppose it wouldn't like idea until you saw big shaq Lawson with the dark visor pancaking some QB on prime time tv. Then you'd love it. I always thought the all purple unis against Georgia tech on a Thursday night was one of the most memorable games I've been to. The players loved them the team and crowd were juiced and the rout was on when cj jukes those dudes. A big time atmosphere with one time uni combo would be awesome. All for it! Players would be too!
