Valley. It used to be an organic, natural experience between fans, band, cheerleaders, and situations on the field. Now it's just orchestrated, cheesy jumbotron stuff.

Yup, that’s the worst thing they’ve done in Death Valley. Looks so out of place and cheap. Also, looks terrible coming down the street from Fike.

100 percent yes. Perhaps we could do a throwback Saturday with old uniforms and just the announcer and the band that’s it. Just make the big tv a scoreboard for the day.
I know won’t happen, but nice to dream sometimes.

Agree 100%. Too loud and distracting from the game itself. The mood of the valley should be set by the fans not this fake and phony Jumbotron.

That’s normal at all stadiums these days. Will have sponsorship on the jerseys and field by next season.
I wish the Jumbotron was our biggest issue.

Agree. The game and the crowd should create noise like they always used to without all the electronics. And I hope our fans are still football knowledgeable enough to know when to get loud.

Every big stadium has massive ad filled screens with break time games and gimmicks. Everyone does the light show stuff and fireworks. Many have a 4th quarter video.
Game production is a big business now and universities hire professionals to do it. They often have little to do with the school before they get here to run the production

You’re paying for a “show” as well as the game. Those fancy video boards, lights, drones aren’t cheap

I agree with you 100 %. It has begun to creep down to the HS level as well. Video Boards are starting to show up at the largest/ most successful High Schools.
Since I was on a bye week, my son and I took in in a game at a 1A HS.We ate a pregame supper at the local diner and everyone, customers and workers, were decked out in their team colors. When we got to the stadium, people were very hospitable and excited that we came to see their school play.
The stadium filled up on the home side very quickly and we sat amongst them. No fancy score board, PA announcements, contests, etc. Everyone was totally in tune with the game and cheering for the kids playing football,cheerleading, and playing in the band.
VERY REFRESHING 😎
