TJ Moore leads all Clemson WRs in targets.
He is currently #233rd in the country in catch rate (minimum 20 targets). 34 targets, 15 catches for 44%
That's a huge problem.

Doesn't seem to be a huge problem for Wesco who is second on the team in targets and is 40th in the country in catch rate at 75% (24/32).

Catch rate is determined by passes that were deemed catchable. There were some bad passes (targets) but a 44% catch rate is horrible. Moore has had some critical drops. If Moore is not running the right routes that would kill his target to catch rate also. More than once I have noticed Cade point down the field or in a direction for Moore after the play. Miscommunication for sure!

From the perspective of God given gifts, Moore and Wesco are very different.
Wesco is the burner with some shiftiness. He gets open by getting separation from his man.
Moore is the bigger guy with modest speed and less shiftiness than Wesco. He gets open by out ‘physicalling’ the defender. Like DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Williams did.
Moore has had several almost-catches in 50 / 50 balls where the ball was being batted around. He hasn’t been coming up with those.
Wesco has not had many catches in 50 / 50 balls, either. However, in situations of very tight coverage (but where the defender couldn’t actually get a hand on the ball), Wesco has caught more than his share of those. Moore doesn’t get many of those contested passes where the defender doesn’t get a piece of the ball. Moore has revealed that his ‘catch radius’ is not impressive.
Why has Tristan Smith been languishing on the bench? Moore doesn’t seem to know the routes very well (which has nothing to do with his poor ‘catchable pass completion’ rate). How much worse must T.Smith be (compared to Moore) when it comes to not knowing the routes very well structure?

Tristan's on the bench because his last name isn't Turner. Sad, but true.

his catch rate. Coming back for the ball in tight coverage. Attacking the ball in flight as opposed to waiting for the ball to hit him. He's making it too easy for defenders to defend.

Think it's a statement on the offenses main issues. Lapses in focus for the whole season up to date.

Doubt it. This should have happened against Troy and Syracuse but didn’t.

Yeah he's one of those guys that needs to find that dog in him. Remember Sammy

Watkins how he came in and just took the WR1 job from everyone else on the team? He was aggressive and just better. We had some guys that were supposed to be in front of him that had that nonchalant, unsure of themselves body language and Sammy did not. He attacked the ball and beat defenders to the ball. TJ doesn't not fight for the ball or go hard like i think he can. Thats that switch that needs to flip but can only flip in his head. Maybe its a personality type kinda thing.

Let's put this in even more perspective. He's 233rd. Only 242 total WRS in all of FBS football have 20 targets or more. So he's 10 spots from being dead last.

Nope TJ is not fine which plays into the ‘dust up’s’ btw he and Tristan during summer camp. Tristan was pushing him and I ‘believe’ that caused friction. They played it off then as heat of competition.
I personally feel that there’s reservations about letting transfers show as top dogs. Jmo

I could very well see smiths snaps being limited to coddle tj moore into not sitting out and transferring. If tj touches the field Saturday I’d be willing bet you’ll see smiths snap count sky rocket
