The good old days ~~~

When I was a younger Tiger fan winning any game called for a celebration.
1960 - 6-4 1961 - 5-5 1962 - 6-4 1963 - 5-4 1964 - 3-7 1965 - 5-5 1966 - 6-4 1967 - 6-4 1968 - 4-5 1969 - 4-6 1970 - 3-8 1971 - 5-6 1972 - 4-7 1973 - 5-6 1974 - 7-4 1975 - 2-9 1976 - 3-6
In many ways being a fan was more fun then than this year. I am now an entitled, spoiled a$$hole type of fan.

My memories when I was young started about 5 years before that. That was a long dry spell but exciting Saturdays. Games started at 1:00. Had to be there if you wanted to see them play. Might get on TV once every couple of years (regional broadcast) only.

The 1976 record was actually 3-6-2. I’m not correcting you to be a smarty, but to say that in my hometown of Cope, SC, we had people celebrating because we tied GIT in Atlanta 24-24.
Of course, 1977 was a great season with us beating ug in Athens and GIT in Atlanta.
My favorite bumper sticker during that ‘77 season was “Clemson Football - - Saturday Afternoon Fever.”
We definitely need to remember what was in the past, but also, with all our might, strain towards the excellence that is possible.
Go Tigers!

as a kid, so I somewhat know the feeling. Hard to believe 7-4 in 1974 was the best of those 17 seasons you mentioned.

THANK YOU for the perspective. I started following

In mid 80s when my brother was there, then early 90s when I was there. The records then were better than in the 60s/70s, but probably way more excrutiating….. as a fan, it’s better to know you stink, than to think you’re good and get crushed a few times a year!!

Sometimes we have a humbling experience to make us appreciate what we have been given.
