Okay, I assume Bryant wasn't asked to run before the game.

Right? I am going to have to assume he wasn't running anything like he ran in the game. Early on in the game I might add.

IF those assumptions are true, still, why wasn't he pulled after the first attempt to run he was clearly not running anywhere close to right?

Iwas upset the left him out there. Of course after watching Cooper it is clear why they did. ZC was not ready to play

If only we had another backup QB that could play.***

The coaches sounded defensive about Cooper over Johnson

Oct 14, 2017, 10:32 AM

Talking about going back to January in their evaluation of the two, when it was clear from the games so far this season that Cooper is a nervous wreck on game days and Johnson is cool calm and collected, going 11 of 12 with a TD and no ints. Syracuse knew Bryant was limited in the running game and attacked that weakness. Bryant, without the running ability, is an average at best QB. He's not going to sit in the pocket and make the necessary throws. Johnson should have gotten the start with a bit more emphasis on throwing the ball to open things up.

terrific post IMO. We have shown no ability to open up the offense. Dual OC's iOS one reason why! The middle has been open for passes in virtually every game this year, yet seldom do we use it. Can't TE see that?

Bryant threw great last night and he can sit back and make the throws. The issue was running feaster and etienne, they can’t block so kelly didn’t have time to sit and throw; He couldn’t run so he got clobbered.

Kelly couldn't avoid pressure and keep his eyes downfield.

There were receivers open. Made him an easy target for blitzes. The Syracuse defense took full advantage of that limitation. Just a poor decision by the coaching staff.

Agreed, the staff should have known better. Bryant has 4 pass TDs through 6 and half games. If he couldn't run he never should have been out there.
