crappie were slabs. My buddy caught the biggest one, about 3 lbs. 17 plus inches. 2 more in the 2.5 LB range and the rest were just peckerheads in the pound and a half range....

Fishermen need adjustable decals like the stick figure decals showing the size of the family. The way those Crappies are laid out reminded me of those decals. lol Nice catch Spud

Spud IMPO, crappie to me is the best tasting freshwater fish that comes out the Ponds, and lakes here in SC. What is your personal opinion of the crappie as a fish to eat???

I had fried Crappie tonight from Santee lakes. Definitely one of the mildest freshwater fish you can eat. Yellowfin perch and White Perch are very comparable. I love fish period, so I have recipes for just about every species. But for those that prefer mild flavored fried fish, crappie are hard to beat.
