I say/yell all kinds of stuff at the TV in the privacy of my home, but whenever I attend a game of any sport in person, I never....never....boo my own team. I realize I'm in the minority on this one, especially today, judging from what I can hear from the stands on the broadcast.
Everyone has the right to do that. Tickets are expensive, you're paying good hard earned money so you have the right to boo your own team. But what does it accomplish? Home games are when our team needs us the most. But once again I might be the only one in the entire world who believes this.
Am I?

Amen!! These players lost getting the benefit of the doubt when they began collecting millions to play. Sorry, this is no longer amateur football. These guys are paid semu-pros. I guess they will get thick skin or quit and just go to class. I could care less what they chose, but they need to produce if the are going to play for pay!!

The coaches make more than ever. The players now get quite a lot as well. The networks get more than ever.
The fans pay far more than ever before. They’re the only ones who get less. So yeah, boo away.

I thought I made it clear that I say all kinds of stuff (haven't thrown anything yet) at the TV. I don't accept mediocrity. I think it sucks. I'm less likely to put forward the $ to attend a future game under these circumstances. THat's not accepting mediocrity in my book, it almost boycotts it.
I just don't boo my team in person--I'd rather encourage them to turn around and win the game. I think that's my obligation as a fan, to at least not demoralize them further. But I accept that nobody agrees with me, that's fine.
Now, someone else made a very valid point above. These aren't amateur kids anymore. They are paid professionals. Good point. But I (personally) don't boo pro teams either in person.

I get you but booing is calling it what it is. Fans are not happy and all the effort and money fans spend on this you do expect best is standard. I’m watching on tv and have not booed but I have laughed at the poor play with this product I am seeing. Hopefully second have is totally different.

This is and always has been a what have you done for me lately business. He’s getting paid on his legacy. The last five years have been mediocre to terrible. This game, hopefully, is rock bottom. Don’t know what the buyout is, but it’s time to dust that contract off and give it a look.

Not really. I'm not disputing that the coach is overpaid and is messing up (the team itself, as well). I'm not disputing that it's unacceptable. I'm just saying it's poor form for me (not you or anyone else, go for it) to boo my own team. I cheer my team in person, then vote with my feet and wallet when disappointed. That speaks louder than I can shout (and I'm loud).

I use to go to a lot of Clemson games, but I got so old now I just watch them on TV. I went with a friend and my son to the Alabama - Clemson game in the Georgia dome when they beat us around 52 to 0. We stayed the whole game and never booed. I would neve boo my team, especially in front of my son.

Before the players got paid, Boo the coaches for a performance like this. Leave the players out of it. ####, it’s still mostly on the coaching today.
Now that they’re being paid though, booing is fair game. If you play with effort and still don’t get the results, then I’m not gonna boo. But so far everyone on that sideline deserves to be booed.
I’m shocked LSU didn’t run us out of the building. The play calling sucks. The effort sucks. The run game sucks. The D sucks.
I knew the hype was bullsh*t. But this is sad.
For the fans, stop being so #### soft. Everyone on that field knows what they signed up for. If they lose this game, there is no grace granted. They all deserve to be booed in public until things change. You’re paid this much to win. You don’t want to be booed for losing in embarrassing fashion, donate it to charity.
That said, I hope we score 40 in the 2nd half and I get to ####.

What are you going to do if Dabo leaves. He has had several great years. I wonder how other coaches would handle Clemson during today’s college football environment 🐅🐅
I know they are making a lot of money now. But there have been times when a pro athlete had a career year got a big raise only to lay an egg the first year of his new contract !!!

Completely agree, I have never booed the Tigers players - ever. Ken Hatfields and Garrett Riley's play calling, absolutely. The boo's this evening were for Riley's "dink dink" (Rob Spence) play calling.

Ultimately college football is a product and we are consumers, especially season ticket holders.
Dabo is very good at gaslighting the fanbase, especially the watch-from-home cult members that have never actually set foot in the stadium.
People are waking up and noticing that the ship is 3/4 of the way sunk and they're tired of being told that they aren't real fans if they notice it.
Football isn't a religion. Criticism of Dabo or the team isn't a sin.

I guess I’m in the minority too. I can’t see booing kids who chose to go to the same school you did. Although the line is blurring, there is a difference between the NFL and CFB. It’s what separates us from Yankees. An NFL team is like an expensive exclusive restaurant. Your college team is like a BBQ chicken fund raiser at the church. While criticizing the food and service at the restaurant is fine and dandy, the church people are your friends and family. Guess I’m stuck in the past.

I used to never boo in Death Valley either but when the HC makes $11m and the QB makes $4m I’m no longer booing college boys , they are now pros and if they perform as they have the last 2 weeks I don’t feel so bad. I would have never booed Charlie Waters or Ray Yauger back in the day. Nevertheless I still look forward to the next 10 games but I’m never falling for the pre season hype again or reading anny Tigernet articles in July or August!
