15 years ago a REALLY bad storm came through our area. A couple weeks later our surrounding neighbors were getting new roofs for free. A reputable roofing contractor knocked on our door and said he could get us a new roof for FREE. To my wife and I it felt "weird", "sleezy", "non-legit"..........after talking with neighbors who'd done it we decided to go through with it. The contractor met our insurance company at our house and showed them the "hail damage".............2 weeks later we had a brand new $10K roof for FREE. A GREAT decision to get our already 20 year old roof a FREE replacement, which paid dividends a year later when we sold.

I'm actively trying to start a company to do this.
For too long, we've had to deal with briefcases of cash and cars from local dealerships given to players.
I'm all about giving the athlete their due.
This all changed when Jordan got a cut from every Nike product he sold.
It's created 1,000s of jobs + given us all more access to sports.

You're right but not in the way that you think you are.
This is innovative and forward thinking.
We can shake our fist at the sky about what CFB was like in the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. but that isn't there any more. Maybe if those generations would have had some forsight and allowed for slow positive changes to be made we wouldn't be in this current situation. When it comes down to it - it's the old guards fault we are where we are; not the kids.

Not blaming the kids but the people that are supposedly over all this nonsense to put some type of guidance where at the end of the day more teams will remain competitive. It’s ok to pay for play but not when 5-10 universities (alum) can pay 10 times as much as the next school’s alum. Makes no sense.
Hoping a few on here are here in about 5 years and spew your rah rah BS on how this ultimately ended up.

I'm merely a Clemson alum that wants to win every game in every sport, to have the University do what it takes to be elite in sports, and to have our fan base stop reinforcing the stereotypes that were all a bunch of ignorant hillbillies.

The entire universe works on an equilibrium in my humble opinion I was born to Parents living in married student housing in 1957 on the campus. My father said we had players then that could not read , and the school cleaned that up , then in the 70`s we had it again with guys not being student athletes . I was a walk on FB player I saw it. Dabo is doing the best of all the schools except the service academies . I am with the fellow that says my allegiance is to the school. This BOD is doing things right , this athletic administration is doing things right . I do not want to sell our souls to win a few games, I want these youngsters to leave Clemson as a Clemson MAN .

And if they play like dookie, can we use it to take NIL funds away from them? If we are going to this level, then their pay will need to be in line with their play. I have always said about the NFL players, they always want more money after maybe a few good games or season, but they should have money taken away from them for every screw up like a dropped catchable ball (please note catchable, not a DJU 5 feet infront or over the head of pass), fumble, int, etc. Obviously it won't ever change.. but that's how I always felt it should done.

Fair Market Value= the team with the largest alumni base will come together and come up with an NIL opportunity and give kids that have not played a down of college football stupid kinds of money. Let’s talk about fair competition like some type of salary structure.

As for "equitable", that's never going to happen. The NFL has 32 teams. FBS alone has 131, not counting the 3 service academies.
FCS has 129. Do the math.

This is a sad sad day for what use to be cf. I not but who wants to buy the players. I have lost all interest if all sports. It’s nothing but greedy players for the most part. A few good coaches like Dabo but it’s all about the money. You people that fill the stadium have helped to create to BS chaos. Until fans stop going to games and spending so much on NIL products it’s going be this and get worse.
I don’t expect Dabo to finish out his contract. It’s too much BS to deal with. Jeff Scott would be nuts to get be into coaching at any level. Even little league has become a nightmare.
It’s a shame as to what athletics has become. 🤬🤬😢

They've always needed to pay talent to live in backwater Stoolwater, Oklahoma. There's like one way in and one way out of that one dog town. I've been there to watch my Horns and that stadium is a joke as well. It looks like a tinker toy stadium and it's all Texas money that built anything they have.
