most of the day on IV's at Lexington, including some broad spectrum antibiotics, since his white blood cell count was up, indicative of some type of infection. They also gave him what must have been some miracle liquid drug in the IV that stopped the nausea, he has not had any since coming back home late yesterday afternoon. He has an appointment with a gastric doc this morning, and we will certainly ask about testing for Crohn's, as several of you have mentioned this as a possibility. Hard to believe he has not already been tested for this, but if he has, neither my wife nor I remember it being done.

Continued prayers for your son. I have a cousin who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease a couple of year ago. He lost so much weight and was extremely sick for a few months, but once they got his medication regulated, he’s been doing great. I believe he goes to Duke for his appointments and treatment.

There’s not a test to determine if someone has that. My wife had her colon removed before it was determined that she had Chrohns and not ulcerative colitis. Difference being ulcerative colitis is confined to the colon and chrohns can be anywhere in the digestive track. Either way best of luck. Lots of high powered drugs to manage this but very expensive. Plenty of available help with drug cost but paperwork galore in getting it.

My daughters diagnosis was kidney infections. Took years to figure out what was going on. Never ran the right test. Would stay in the hospital for 7 days many times during a year on IV's with antibiotics because they knew her white blood cell count was elevated just could not figure out why. She was actually refluxxing back into the kidneys.
I say all that to say I hope they do run test on all possible issues. Terrible to stay sick and and they tell you they cannot figure out why.
