Who do you believe

Will step up and be the leader on the field for the Clemson offense this season? I believe that someone must step up and assume this leadership roles for the offense to be good. I always thought that Swalski was that guy on defense last season. You would expect the QB to be THE GUY but I’m not convinced that DJU has that kind of control of the offensive guys. There are several on the defensive side and I think that Henry will be one player who the team can rally around.

Most likely candidate appears to be Shipley. He said he wanted it last year and played like it. But wouldn’t it be great if whoever becomes the starting center could be that guy? Finding a leader on the O line would be huge.
KJ will definitely be a leader on defense. But he will have lots of company and a much easier job IMO than whoever emerges as the offensive leader.

He was also right about DJ, DJ didn't prove to have any leadership of the offense last year, and if that doesn't change, he won't keep his Job as the starting QB bc, the QB is suppose to lead the offense that his team runs, and if he can't, nobody follows just like last season with the offense being out of sink the entire season!!!

I can see Shipley being a leader on offense, but whoever is the starter at Skalski's linebacker position has to be a leader on the field. That position pretty much demands it.

It was Shipley last year once he was back and fully healed

from injury that stepped up and took the reins on offense, leading us to a 6-0 finish, so I see this role only increasing this season. If we can get our QB and an OL or two to join in that department we would be golden.

I think they rally behind the QB competition and we see a big jump from DJ, but Ship happens and Will will make his presence known as well.

since it's usually a linebacker, while the D-line is busy wreaking havoc. Agree that Shipley and Ngata will be leaders on the offense. Hopefully everyone stays healthy.

Well thought answers to my question. We all seem to agree that Shipley is prepared to assume this most important role . Nothing would make me happier than to see the big QB up his game to the level that we are accustomed to seeing. Maybe big Dave has been working with him!!!!’ I think that our beloved coach is in a tight spot right now when it comes to quarterback play.

Not sleeping on Mafah. Guy needs more carries but with the 3 RB’s I understand touches are limited.

Brian Bresee & Tyler Davis will be the leaders on Defense as they control the line of scrimmage.
I personally believe Walker Parks will lead the offense unless Cade Klubnik is needed because of injury or performance then Cade is the leader all day long!

Ship could do it, but he is not an every down player. The qb is. I think it will be Cade in the end to lead the offense. The added scramble will be a big benefit to the offense, as well as accuracy on passes, to give us a leader on the field. The team follows the QB.

Has to be QB or there is no leadership. That's the way it works. There is no time for some slot wr to talk much. It's always the QB. Some other players can inspire with results, but the leadership will have to be the QB.
