IF DW gets

injured again for a long or short period of time who do we play? first guess is scheussler. Hes the veteran with only snaps on roster.
The riskier option would be trying either Israel or Bryant as a true freshman. which brings up a stronger question. Can we really afford to redshirt either guy?
and finally the sexy pick would be Cain running the wildcat and read option with a stable of diverse rb's.
i hate to think about this but injury is reality in this sport. hopefully his injuries this year were a reflection of him not having much time in the weight room. he was kind of thrown in there. and his frailness may have been the reaaon our coaches were trying to hold him back while we were scratching our heads.. just sayin

I say Bryant. Best skills. You are right. History tells us Watson is injury prone. Don't see him lasting thru October. Hope I'm wrong.

The finger could have happened to anyone carrying the ball. It was a freak accident which happened because he was using his hand to trying to keep the tackler off his legs.
The ACL tear happened sometime during high school and the MRI, after the knee bruise from landing on an upturned cleat, was our first knowledge of his high school injury. He previously showed no sign of having a knee problem.
For the life of me I can't understand why people don't watch the film for themselves instead of buying into every negative comment which questions this kid's durability.
My guess is that Israel is more game ready than Bryant though Bryant may have a higher ceiling. I don't think Nick has a chance to beat either of them now that Chad I said run the ### play whether or not you know how to Morris is gone. Our OCs will call what Israel and Bryant can run.

I agree with you on all cylinders. Bryant played awful in shrine bowl. id play Israel. no one seem to think Cain at least gets a good look?

NS is no ones first guess. First hope? Yeah, I bet for some. He is now 4th on the depth chart and that assuming you're not walking on at QB.

He'll have to learn to preform two positions to play QB.

Now just learn the playbook but practice the QB position too. I think we'd have to lose three QB before we'd convert him. Two positions just seem too much for a freshman to handle.
Had he really wanted to play QB he would have chosen a school which recruited him for that position. I think he's resolved to go to the pros but not at QB.

coronamav1, trust me, this staff knows they have a weapon in Cain as a potential QB option and it would not surprise me to see them use it this coming season.

Good post, ClemsonTiger1988, and I would like to add that I believe our new co-offensive coordinators will not run DW 8 out of the first 12 plays like Chad did in the Georgia Tech game. I thought Chad called a very good game for the USC game and our new play callers did an outstanding job against Okla in the bowl game. DW is definitely a weapon and just the threat of what he is capable of is sometime enough, sprinkled in with a few plays just to prove our point.

Jeeeeez, ok, Ill say it. Schuessler is 4th string right now. Bryant and Israel will battle it out for 2nd and 3rd off the bench. You cant take the shrine bowl as an indicator of how good or bad Bryant is. This guy is a DW clone as far as talent. He will be coached up and is going to be a very good quarterback. I like Nick as much as the rest of you but he is our "clipboard Jesus". You might see Cain running some out of the wildcat, but he will not start at QB with or without Watson. Israel is a gun slinger and also a very good quarterback. Not a position I worry about.
