Take it down.

I don't give a chit about politics and I sure don't give a chit about politicians including Haley. I don't give a chit about racism either. I've never burned one single calorie to harm anyone of another race except when defending myself.
Take it down and quit crying about southerners being racist. We are no more or less racist than any northern or western states. Stop denying racism and face it in your heart if it's there, If it isn't this is America and folks who hate other races are only harming themselves. It's like drinking poison and waiting for your enemy to die.
Stop with the political correctness bullchit, everybody is sick of it. It's America and as wrong as it is to hate with or without reason there's no law against hating that any judge in this world can enforce. Let the One who prohibits hate deal with the haters and shut your venomous mouths.

Before those ten years are over, there will probably be sufficient momentum to get it taken down.
The civil war gets to be a more and more distant memory with each passing year.

For the people, By the people with so many trying to get points using this issue to be heard "WE" the people of South Carolina should vote on this issue and put it to rest Keeping flying/displaying the Confederate Flag on South Carolina State Property or moving it to a State Museum should be the vote and will of all "WE the people of South Carolina" How or Why the ones we put in to express the views and wants of all who live in South Carolina did not address the NCAA with there Angus Droppings Decision that cost everyone in South Carolina to loose money. We all know how money hungry Politicians are if they did not try to protect and be the voice for the ones of South Carolina with the NCAA why should "WE" think they will be on this issue. Read into anything you want to with this but an issue like this that affects the lives and well being ($$$$$) of and for everyone who lives in The State of South Carolina should be VOTED ON by the ones who it affects. This is not a decision for anyone in the USA other than the ones who live in South Carolina

That's very, very well put. Hatred destroys the one who hates. That is so true.

FWIW, we are more racist than the north and the west

Those areas are far more demographically diverse. I hear way more N-bombs dropped in South Carolina and Georgia than I do in Cali, NY, Penn, etc, and I feel ashamed every time I hear it.
Though, Mississippi and Louisiana are way worse. Not that we should be proud of ourselves for not being as rassist as those two.

Sure, I remember abandoning the term 'colored,' for black...

then black for afro-american and that for african american. I actually remember abandoning the n word for negro and negro for black. I used all those terms because they were the standard. If something offends someone I don't use it. I wasn't a racist then and I'm not one now. Any accusation to the contrary fall on deaf ears. I was called an SOB once, my grandmother told me that things like that should only hurt if they are true.
What, exactly, do you PC folks want?

The Northeast is very racially segregated and the first thing whites do when they make a little money is move to a town that is segregated.
