Tackle eligible - Sam Copper TD pass

Did anybody notice that the pass play that Sam Cooper scored on appeared to be a tackle eligible play? He lined up at left tackle and went unguarded straight down the middle of the field. I have not heard anyone mention this.

Cooper just lined up in the tackle spot, but is still an eligible receiver. The actual "tackle" lined up in a wideout spot.

watch the replay- after the snap you'll see the "tackle" whos lined as a wideout pull back behind the line of scrimmage and not go downfield to avoid the penalty for ineligible receiver

Morris has played this card a few times but i think this is the first one that went for a TD

Yea we ran it against UMD and Auburn last year

got like a 20 yd gain against Maryland and a PI against Auburn.

It is an effective play if you can sneak it in.
