Step 1 - Fire Riley whether he deserves it or not.

Enough talk. Time for blood. It's a basically a freebie fire for Dabo. He gave him the money. He gave him the time. He gave them stars and recruits. This Riley is a fraud, and it may be in the family.
Personally, I'd send Allen packing as well. You mean to tell me this grown man, a professional, doesn't know where he should be physically during the game without some moron (Franklin) telling him? That was a major red flag, BTW.
And then where it really gets dicey is the friends and family that need to go. Smallest recruiting class. No options at RB. WR's have temporarily covered for Grish. Conn's game is old, worn-out, and our safeties and special teams are showing that same vibe. Where is Eason's fire? His two pre-season first rounders are manikins.
Mike Reed is probably tired of getting passed over in all the defensive shakeups.
This is the house of cards Dabo has to address since he created it. If he cannot, or will not, we have a much larger issue which I really, really, really do not want to think about. So let's just fire Riley while it's easy to make everyone feel better atleast!!

And for the record, Matt Luke's unit has been all flash in recruiting and 25% improvement on the field when they want to. That group still is a bunch of SC 3 Star* clowns and he should also be puckering (this hurts me a lot because I'm a big fan of his).

Riley made his name (with help from his brother) at TCU when they went to the national championship. At TCU he never faced a team that even pretended to play defense. When he did (UGA) they got curb stomped. Same thing at Clemson. When the opponent can't play defense he looks brilliant. When they have even an average defense he looks lost. I agree they need to fire Riley. If it was me i wouldn't even wait for the season to end. Do it now. Shoot, in the locker room after last night's game.

The last two OC hires have been puppets for Dabos offense. It's the same offense since Morris left. The only difference is we don't out athlete everyone we play. It doesn't matter who you put the OC title on its the same garbage...thankfully we had GREAT players during our run to negate the simplicity and conservative nature Dabo relishes.

Allen needs more than 7 games to get his defense up to snuff, it took venables 3 years. It was chunk plays that cost us,. I don't have the stomach to rewatch, but I imagine there were busts in coverage. Not being able to stop the run late in the game hurt, but all of the 3 and outs on offense had our defense gassed late in the game.
I am not going to pass judgment on Riley, but I would prefer to have a more seasoned coordinator. You do not have to go for the flavor of the year pick, just a veteran who has seen it all, and give him the talent to work with. The inconsistency in the running game, running CV on third and short when the entire stadium saw it coming, a lot of head-scratching stuff.
Or Oline will be fine, we are back-filling with good talent behind our starters, and have been banged up a bit this year. Luke is a keeper. It took Dan Brooks a couple of years to get the Dline to its peak. He deserves another year at least. It is not his fault our right tackle got owned on a critical down, and guys are missing assignments. When they are playign mistake free, we move the ball at will, it is night and day.
