for both those games, it was my sophomore year. And yes, it was exciting to beat both those teams in the same season, for the first time since 1902, or so we were told.
I even remember Mike O'Cain and Mark Fellers platooning at QB. Both had good games against the two Georgia schools, as I remember.

Been to A LOT of games at Clemson since 1987, but the 2015 game against Notre Dame was my memorable with an honorable mention to the 2003 game against Florida State.

The start of the Louisville game was the loudest I’ve ever heard it. The old lady in the seat next to me was crouched down clasping her ears. She was in physical pain from the noise. Louisville started with 2 straight false starts.

It was in 1965. It was a "dance week end" and "Homecoming". My beautiful home town honey was there. I believe 'The Impressions' played in the dining hall, can't recall who we played on the field.

All the above were great but for me two that jump out

ND with Montana. They complained all week about the noise. Without social media, everyone I saw in the stands held up newspapers like they were reading and gave ND the silent treatment. Even did a cheer with everybody fake clapping so no noise. I forget exactly, but I Think it was when we ran down the hill the whole place erupted. Kept loud the whole game but Joe Montana did Joe Montana things in the end
The second was the 1981 GA game my freshman year. Everyone knows the game, but when we left coming down the ramps from the upper deck south side, the fans would just spontaneously erupt, then quiet down then erupt again. One GA female got pissed and yelled “_well, you’ll never win a National Championship”. The rest, as they say, is history.

Hard to top 1987 vs UGA…..

Punting the ball away Down by 4 late in the fourth quarter, Rusty Seyle pins them at the 1 yard line when freshman John Johnson runs down the ball. Georgia doesn’t even come close to getting out of the end zone on 1st down if you watch the qB’s right arm on the replay. Next play James Lott, Gene Beasley and Company record the safety. Now we are only down 2 and getting the ball back.
Tigers move the ball down the field to set up the game winning field goal. Once they are in range the clock is ticking with no time outs.
Me yelling at Danny Ford: “what’s taking so long to get the field goal unit on the field! HURRY UP!!!”
Danny Ford cooly letting the clock run down before Treadwell drives a stake in their hearts!

I wasn't there. I had just got out of the Navy, and was working in, I believe Alabama, at the time. I had come home the night before, and listened to Jim Phillips and Tim Bourett call the game, the next day. I might not have been there, but it's a game I'll never forget. JP was such a great play by play man, that it was almost as if you were right there in the booth with him. Sometime later, I read where Jeff Davis said; I spent the whole first half looking for Herschel, the second half, he spent looking for me.

The fight overshadowed what otherwise was a great Clemson win. I remember thinking that was the only game I have ever seen where the opening kickoff was the game's deciding play. Clemson kicked off and completely blasted the Coot return player. He fumbled...recovered by Clemson...there was no doubt from that point on. Well, the only doubt was when/if the refs were going to break up the chippy-ness of the Coot players before it got out of hand. Spoiler alert, they did not.

1975 vs. Duke. Sitting on the hill watching a field goal barely clear the cross bar as time expired thinking - crap, we just lost to Duke. 1975 and 1976 were dark times.
