Predictions Without DW

I say it will be a good game as long as CS doesn't turn the ball over like in GT game. I say our D can win us this game, and Wayne Gallman and Tyshon Dye will combine for 150+. Prediction: Clemson 21-17 Leave your predictions in comments

Tigers win 24-17. The key, of course is turnovers. We should have a steady diet of Gallman and Dye, and some QB runs. The only passes I would sanction would be very long 3rd down bombs so that when the interceptions occur, they are very deep in their own territory. The OL can really make the difference in this game. Less pressure makes Stoudt a better operator. The HUNH worked pretty well with him, the very few times we ran it. Our defense will be a real key here, but we need to keep them off the field a reasonable amount of time.

If Cole "3 and out" Stoudt is not allowed to throw then it may be Clemson - 14 Oklahoma - 13. If he throws the it may be Oklahoma - 35 Stoudt - 0.

The 17-13 if Cole can keep it under 3 INTs. The 24-13 if he throws 3 or more.

Just don't see how we're going to score many points, just hope our D can keep us in the game. I think OK is most vulnerable to a passing attack and don't see us having an effective one. And if we can't throw the ball they'll just load up against the run. 17-14.

I guess they will simply refuse to give Schleussler a shot. Thank god, this is the last game that Stoudt can ever play for a Clemson. Worst QB ever to play at Clemson.

I think we can win w CS but it will take an effective game

plan outside of just trying to pound the ball. If we think we can win by pounding the ball, OK will stuff the box and force CS to throw. Its imperative that we are able to get our playmakers the ball in space. Mike Williams has to be a factor - DW gets the ball to Mike fine, but CS seems to think he's not in the game. Obviously Scott needs the ball in his hands too, but OU is no where near as bad as USuCk is on D, and the jet sweet won't work every time. We have to find ways to get MW and AS the ball in space outside of sweeps and screens - posts, slants, etc. Get creative - I loved the CM play call vs LSU where a WR screen to AH led to a pitch to AE for 30. No WR reverse passes, but creativity that gets the ball to AS, MW and WG in space and let them do their thing. We will obviously need to make it a little more simple for CS, but I definitely feel like we can win with him.

wildcat wildcat. Please dont throw the ball down field at all with Cole. Its too much of a risk. Like going for it on 4th down on your own 2 yd line, the reward doesn't outweigh the risk. Best thing we can do is eat up clock with run plays keep our defense as fresh as we can and hope for some big plays for TD's from the run/extended run game. screens pitches sweeps wildcat runs. I think we can get it done on the ground without cole throwing TD's for OKIE

wildcat and jet sweeps, but we will have to throw the ball some and just WR screens won't work. I'm not talking 15-30 yard throws, I'm talking 6 yard slants and 10 yard posts just to try and get MW and AS the ball in space to hopefully make a move and break a tackle. MW hasn't been a factor when CS is at the helm except for the very beginning of the season, and he has to be a factor.

Were all just not as negative as you are. I actually have hope and believe our offense will score at least two touchdowns.

It's ridiculous that people are debating Cole Stoudt. Forget it.

OK's run defense is top 10.Our qb has shown that he can't handle the big stage. This will be a tough one.Because we will have to pass first. If Stoudt can capture his early success then we win. The vertical passing game will be critical to open running games. Bowl games you never now.

Our great defense will get worn out if Clemson offense is

going three and out all night. That means more times for Oklahoma to have the ball and even if we don't turn it over, the score will be bad. And we will turn it over if Watson is not qb. I don't mean the average run of the mill turnover, with our backup qb play we have experienced catastrophic turnovers. Pick sixes, etc
Without Watson we lose this game 39-6

The exact qb situation caused us to lose 28-6 to GT. And
Dec 10, 2014, 3:58 PM

3 of those 6 points were scored before Watson went down. So yes if it takes us from going up 10-0 and probably beating GT to a 28-6 loss, this could very easily result in a 39-6, type blowout. Our defense can hang with Wake, Syracuse, Boston College with our offense repeatedly going three and out. But Oklahoma is a different offense from those teams and they will wear us out if we are on defense all night. And like I said that doesn't take account of how many touchdowns our offense will give them to add to the final score.

was a big blow to confidence.
We'll have three weeks to come to grips with the situation and to game plan.
We'll score at least 10, bare minimum. Take it to the bank.

Except for the Louisville game
Dec 9, 2014, 10:05 PM

In the games he started with DW injured Cole managed to lead a drive late that put the game away.
He found a way. Maybe it wasn't him by himself, but the O did what they had to do.
I think the bowl game could very easily happen the same way,
A close defensive struggle followed by a late CU drive for the win.
Cole can do it, he already has shown us that much
