Clearly this job has Chad Morris written all over it. Everyone knows Army is looking to run the hurry up spread.

service academies. Do they admit some marginal student athletes there compared to the student body? Yes, but marginal there would be near honor roll everywhere else. I was recruited to play baseball at West Point out of HS back in '86. Got an 1100 on the SAT and the coach wanted me to take it again. LOL. Not to mention the plebe year where you are basically "on line" for a frat like situation all year with duties and work details for upperclassmen all year long. Don't let anyone fool you, they haze the crap out of them and always have. Plebe year is a miserable existence at Navy and Army, and to a lesser extent, USAF Academy. They manage to get some kids who are great athletes but most of them are on the smaller side for the positions they play across the board. Then there's the 5 year service obligation after grad that they have to fulfill...Try recruiting for D1 at a place like that....good luck. If they played D-2 ball they'd dominate. It's amazing that they can even compete in today's D-1 world. Navy has built a heck of a program for what they have to deal with, all things considered.

Have always wanted to see the service academies do well in sports due to what those guys have to deal with surviving that first year along with the other three years, no less the hazards they face during their military careers.

i pull hard for Navy because i'm a Marine and i've served with a bunch of Naval Academy grad Marine Corps officers but I pull for Army and Air Force all year too, unless they're playing Navy. Theirs is a college experience unlike everyone elses. It's a way of life for those kids and they're immersed into the service culture as an 18 year old plebe freshman.

My nephew plays baseball at Army. A couple of guys he played high school ball with went to UNC and NC St. There is no comparison of his work load and their workloads. One of them went to summer school and only carried 12 hours last fall. He hook 20 hours, and he was there in the summer too attending boot camp. I keep reminding him that he did not make the easy choice, but he will have a good education.

and they go there KNOWING they owe the military branch 5 years after grad. See how many top 100 recruits you can snag when they find out they owe 5 years and have summer officer's candidate school to go to, not to mention the duties during the week, the plebe year hazefest, and the lack of freedom that you have....let me know how that works out for you if you think it is not a major undertaking. I root hard for those academies because of the utter sacrifice they make during college and after once they are leading troops after grad.

from '87 to '91 named Robert Fullwood. He told me all about that experience...I tip my hat to you, brother. Totally different world than other college students.
