I was at the game yesterday and after the ref announced the facemask penalty instead of the sack, I looked at the Jumbotron and clearly the Clemson player did not touch the QB’s face mask. All 80k of us booed, in error I might add, simply because the refs don’t use the more accurate call!

Here’s a pic of the clear helmet infraction. So, instead of announcing “face mask penalty” the zebra should state “15 yd penalty for the defensive player ripping the effin helmet off the Virginia QB!”

Well it was a facemask penalty but also a hold (as shown on the Jumbotron)

penalty on the VA offensive lineman for face masking the Clemson defensive lineman. It was on the same play and should've been offsetting penalties.

Peter Wood almost had his face mask ripped off by an OL on this same play. The back judge was looking directly at the FIRST face mask by the Virginia o-lineman.
