That the visiting schools who are playing in the 1st round of the playoffs don’t get tickets and aren’t allowed to bring the entire band & cheerleaders? UT has a capacity of 100,119 seats according to Google. So that means that our players will have no fan/cheer/band support, to play in a “play-off bowl game” that has no sponsor. Their “reward” for winning a conference championship is another week of practice, a week on campus after finals, no swag-suite, and a little-bit of money.
Each school receives $4 million for making the first round and $3 million for expenses. That’s $7 million ON TOP of the money that the home team will make because it’s just another road game. That’s insane!

I am not a Carolina fan, I just don’t post.
I’m trying to understand how this is fair. Yes, it’s a privilege to go to the playoffs but, when you think about how much hard work and effort these players put in to win that final game, only to get a ‘Playoff” game with none of the perks, while the home team gets all the benefits, it’s crazy to me. Any team that goes into this first round game and lose, don’t get another chance to go to a real bowl game and have fun. It’s just another ballgame. Where in past years, the players that went to a playoff game, or even a bowl game got to go thru the swag suite and spend a week enjoying the fruits of their labor and hard work.
My point is you work hard and get rewarded. How is this a reward?

you just figured this out? The first round is a money grab for the home team locally... even more than the Top4 teams...

Do you really want more useless bowls. Also, imagine a team losing in the playoffs. Do you think they want to go to a meaningless bowl game?

I’m not saying that.My point is that playoffs are supposed to be a reward; so are bowl games. I get that it’s all about money.I get that here is a revenue share with the rest of the ACC which is asinine to me(the % of the share, not that they have to share). I just don’t get how this is a reward.
What truly pisses me off is that there are no tickets because it’s a road game. They may not take the band, they may not take the cheerleaders. At least they would have someone to support them if the fans can’t go.

Whomever told you that has no idea what they are talking about. Visiting teams will be treated like a regular season visiting team.

Exactly. It’s a regular season road game. But, according to IPTAY, there are no tickets unless you want to go pay $250 on the secondary market. There is no benefit/reward to making the playoffs.

The higher ranked team gets the reward. It’s called home field advantage.
