I think Garrett Riley is a good OC

I think he has the wrong players for his style of OC.
When he came here Dabo said he's here to run the Clemson offense. Which is a QB run first offense. That is not what Garrett Riley knows or understands how to scheme. He is a passing attack OC and needs a QB who can stay in the pocket and get the ball out quick and decisively. None of our QBs are that. All were recruited for there running and scrambling ability.

Was that Riley's offense? Or Sonny Dykes (HC) and Riley just got credit?***

We sucked before he got here. So that would suggest the problem is much deeper than Riley

After watching Eric McClain's Takedown piece highlighting the deficiencies on offense against GT, no.

I know this is a crazy idea, but Riley DOES coach Cade?

Even that O was a junk offense. It was so vanilla and easy to shutdown vs a quality D.

That O sucked of Dave's too when Riley was there. That O would suck at Clemson. It was vanilla. It sucked.

Yeah and he is stuck working with inexperienced position coaches. If he brought in his own staff, he may be really good.

Didnt we have a chance to get TCUs QB and receiver

When Riley came but Dabo said no portal players. Also Riley had no say in his staff and apparently has no say in his starting QB. Sure there have been some head scratcher play calls at times but it seems like he has both hands tied behind his back. But then again he should’ve known what he was walking in to.

GR was never a wide open passing OC. Matter of fact when he came, people asked if he was gonna run Air-Rade offense and he corrected media and said he would rather call it the Dirt-Rade offense.
Im not sure I have seem any "Rade" offense since he has been here but I think he was riding Sonny Dykes coattails honestly.

Cade did not run much today from my vantage. So that’s would be Riley’s offense then. Pass pass pass run pass pass pass run run pass pass pass pass pass pass run run pass run pass run…3-0

I actually don't disagree...

Seeing the offense broken down by analysts in our first few games, you see guys running open, which is really all you can do as an OC. Cade is just not pulling the trigger, for some reason.
There are complaints, o-line hasn't been great and WR seem a bit 'meh' about fighting for balls, but I don't actually think the play calls are all that bad.
But our guys, for WHATEVER reason, can't run what he's trying to do.

I disagree. His system requires the QB to execute.

Heck Max Duggan executed this system extremely well and it carried TCU to the final game.
Duggan was a 3 star, but he looked all world in Riley’s systems. Cade is playing bad and not executing the plays right in front of him.
That’s 100% on him, not the system, if freaking Max Duggan can run it, then Cade should be even better. He’s literally playing worse than 3-star Max Duggan. Let that sink in.
It’s not the system, it’s the execution from the most important guy on the field.

bless your heart you are a special kind of stupid , you are still defending this total joke of a coaching staff. You are wrong each time you open your mouth . This team has gone from number 4 preseason to a 1-3 start and the blame starts and stops with the man making 11m per year .
