ESPN will have blood on their hands, typical.

I am not trying to be insensitive but why move the game? The storm is not going to be here until late Monday or early Tuesday. That's 48 hours after the game. I just saw a projection that predicts it will be a category one by the time it hits the upstate. How many would cancel hotels? Wouldn't they just stay here anyway? How would it help with hotels? How would moving the game up help travelers? I don't want any pain and suffering for anyone and hope property damage is not devastating, but I can't figure out how moving the game up helps in any way. Again I am not attacking you but can't see a reason to move the game up.

theres gonna be 85,000 people trying to get to Clemson and then leave at Midnight

while there is ALREADY a FULL SCALE evacuation from FLORIDA flowing into GA while they are ALREADY calling for evacuations from Coastal GA & SC .

are yuo even watching the news or reading the thing from Tigernet that says they won't have the same # of law enforcement for traffic control for the game.

there won't be any hotels left anywhere with the evacuees

I guess I must be an idiot then. Thanks for the insult. Was just trying to have a conversation about logistics and reasoning but since I don't agree with you then I must be an idiot.

I am willing to have a discussion if you give me strong evidence that it will be the right thing to do. What time do You want to play? I have seen some say 3:30. What does that do? Where are the fans going? Is it an advantage to get out three and a half hours earlier? To go where?

LArGEST HUrRICANE in history.

Did you see any coverage of Harvey ?

Have you noticed the EPIC evacuation of people people out of FLORIDA - already evacuating GA and SC

You don't see how having the game earlier might help the police and general public at all?

How can I possibly help you with this. You haven't replied to a post in over a month - you picked this issue?

Just send prayers.

Just saying, you're throwing out a lot of stuff and being a complete ####. How about the evacuees stay away from Clemson and we will all be alright. If they're evacuating today and tomorrow it shouldn't a #### 3 day trip to get to safety.

To add on, most people would probably stop driving the later it gets, so a night game would lead to less traffic after the game.

I'm delighted to think you can use the word "idiot" when referring to Mickey Plyler, who has been a part of the Clemson community since time out of mind and a part of this board since before any of us...when I joined in 2002, he was literally one of the few advocates for Clemson anywhere, in any form of media.

Courtesy, guy. Save the juvie mean-tweet posts for somebody who doesn't warrant your respect, or turn in your orange shirt...if you actually have one. Especially when he's right.

How does everyone leaving at midnight on Saturday even affect all of that? I'm failing to see how the game makes a difference for the evacuees. If anything, having everyone leave at 3:30pm sounds worse for traffic.

Wow good job, dude doesn't agree with you and you call him an idiot? Over sensetive much? Calm down cry baby, Saturday will be a perfect day in Clemson and there will not be 85,000 people trying to leave at one time, get real....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is a legitmate move. And, better for Clemson.

Sep 7, 2017, 7:20 PM

There are 4 quality games this weekend, and everyone is primetime. Move the game to 330p, take the national spotlight, help the state and evacuees. Seems like a win.

Other 3 games are USC/STANFORD, OHSt/OK, and Georgia/ND

Get the people away from the coast and keep them away. Makes sense to play late.

Re: So why aren't they moving the gametime to earlier in the day

Sep 7, 2017, 10:22 PM

Keep this in mind as you read my response - I love night games and want the game to stay a night game. BUT - the time of the game and the traffic, etc. does not just affect those in the upstate. Many people (like myself) will be traveling from several hours away to come to the game. Then, we have to travel back home and at some point between the game and the arrival of the hurricane actually prepare our homes, etc. for the hurricane. Night game=spending the night in the upstate=arriving back home sometime Sunday (typically after lunch). An earlier game would allow those that travel the ability to get home Saturday night to have all day Sunday to prepare for the storm.

FSU just cancelled their game. Makes me wonder about our game as this thing progresses. I still think they leave it alone and kick off at 7

I don't understand why you would not be preparing for the storm right now!Why would you wait until the minute before it hits to prepare? For that matter why would you go to a game knowing you have more important things to worry about?
GO TIGERS!! And Prayers for those evacuating and those who choose to ride it out!
