So, Wake or State? Who we pulling for?

Just curious what the feeling is here. It would seem State maybe since Wake's Unc game didn't count toward the conference, and they don't have any conference losses? Both teams will have 2 more games. Wake has 2 road game @ Tigers, @ BC. State has 2 home games, 'Cuse and UNC. Whatcha say?

Wake. Both need to lose 2 more ACC games but we play Wake so we can control our own destiny in that game.

After all the State hate toward us over the past few years I am inclined to pull for Wake, and they are having a good season. But not sure this is right. Even "if" we were to defeat Wake (if the Tigers can get their offense rolling), they would only have BC left on their schedule. Do you guys really think BC can beat Wake? I don't. I certainly have my doubts.

BC has their (good) QB back from injury in time for their Wake game. Maybe BC can score the 100 points that they'll need to beat Wake.

Ah. Good answer. I didn't even realize
Jurkovec was back. Really don't know how much better their offensive stats are with him under center, but their defense was pretty decent. But I wonder if their team will still play with any urgency at this point.

I have doubts for sure, but the one thing that makes the Wake vs BC game interesting is that, BC got their QB, Jurkovec, back last week. They beat VT, 17-3. Not saying it will happen, but gives me a little more hope.
Here's to pulling for Wake this week.
UNC against NC State on 11/26
BC against Wake on 11/26
And we get redemption against Pitt in the ACC Championship game!

I didn't know Jurkovec was back. They will at least have a better shot. Still not too confident yet. What about Syracuse? Could they actually beat State?

We really need Wake to beat NC State to get NC State out of the picture with hopefully a loss to UNC.
Then we need to beat Wake and become really big BC fans.
This is the best scenario.

Totally agree, but I think UNC has a better shot of upsetting State later, than BC, with little offense, upsetting Wake. Just something to consider.

If NC State wins they hold the tie breaker over us and wake. The only way it works our way is wake win we beat wake and wake loses to BC. That is the only scenario we get in without NC State losing to Syracuse and UNC which i highly doubt.

I thought FSU was going to be a team to give state another L. Unfortunately the noles had 25 players out with the flu. *shakes my head* What are the freakin' odds.
Actually, I think UNC can beat state. They should have beaten Pitt last night, and nearly did. Cuse? Their offense is ok. I just don't see BC having enough offense to give the Deacs a game, not unless they see something on film and clamp down on them defensively. But Wake's defense has been pretty nil, so... ?????

I'm pulling for Wake. I'm not as close to the schools as y'all are. I just like Wake better than I like NCSU.
1. Definition of an underdog. No reason they should be able to compete at the P5 level.
2. I like Dave Clawson. He's doing a great job there.
Side note: I think he'll be in the coaching carousel big time in a few weeks. (If VT fires Fuente, I think he will be on their short list, for just one example.)

I'm with you on Clawson. He has been impressive with what he's done at Wake. He has a good staff too! I don't know who the recruiting coordinator is, but they have done a really good job on the recruiting trail getting under the radar players. They have a couple of receivers that could start at Clemson, or anywhere for that matter. If Clemson is not going to win the Atlantic, I would prefer Wake. No offense to your Seminoles!!

UNC was scheduled as a "non-conference game" for Wake. Their cross divisional rival is Duke I think. So Wake technically is still undefeated in the ACC.

And it's a BS move by UNC and Wake.
The conference established two divisions. Wake and UNC are in different divisions and UNC chose Duke as their every year rival from the Atlantic Division. Since teams are only supposed to have one guaranteed every year rival from the other division, UNC should not be playing Wake very often. Duke is clearly UNC's chosen rival. Similarly NCSU is a bigger rival to UNC than Wake.
So why does UNC agree to play Wake as a nonconference game when the conference does not schedule the meeting as a conference game? UNC doesn't care all that much about Wake. Wake plays home games in a small stadium. Wake does not take many fans when they play in Chapel Hill. So why does UNC insist on playing Wake instead of a some other out of conference game?
UNC chooses to play Wake every chance they can because Wake is an easy win for the Heels. UNC has won 16 of their last 21 games vs Wake. And UNC does not like to conform to how the conference wishes to operate. They get a lot of easy wins vs Wake.
I love it when Wake beats UNC but it seldom happens. UNC gets an easy win most times they play Wake and they don't have to alibi about weak non-conference games.

Is anyone rooting for Wake because they have the best chance of any ACC team this year making the CFP?
The best team in our conference dropping games to unranked teams is not good.
