it has a small part in this discussion. But guys how do we address what has become a moral destruction in our country? The murder of a 31 year old father today has me rattled. So senseless and we have no perp yet. This man represented all we are supposed to wish for in elected officials (which he isn’t even involved in) … speak your opinion in open debate and hear everyone! So sad yet so infuriating.
College Football has lost its way also. There is a massive difference in greed and Capitalism. SMU got the death penalty for doing 40 yrs ago what we’ve now made “legal”. The NCAA sits back so they can just stay on the payroll. It will eventually ruin most colleges as they won’t be able to compete.
Guys stay positive. Stay glass half full. We have to leave this place better than we were given. Our parents and especially grandparents carved a much tougher path. Work hard and live by the golden rule.
Pulling hard for my Tigers at GT but remember it’s not life altering as a fan. The Dabo years have been so much fun. Just embrace it good and bad.

Sad Day! When a 32yr old Christian father trying to share with young prople different views about rights, wrongs about political views but also pushed for 2 parent households and stricter laws on crime and he losed his life for having open forum discussions with young adults. Its obvious radicalism needs to be figured out!

good post. #prayingforKirk
I don't have the best answers, but I'll add my two cents on college sports.
For College Universities: The long-term viability of athletic departments depends on their ability to pivot from being "proprietors" of labor to "partners" in the athlete's personal brand journey. Institutions must invest in robust in-house NIL support and educational programs that provide legal, financial, and brand-building guidance. They should focus on attracting and retaining talent by offering not just capital, but the infrastructure for personal brand growth, which is now a core need for modern athletes. This will curb some of the under-the-table agreements and move us to a more ethical system. For Athletes: In this new, decentralized economy, a student-athlete's greatest asset is their authentic personal brand. To mitigate the risks of exploitation, athletes must seek professional guidance to navigate complex contracts and financial obligations. The rise of collective bargaining efforts is not just a trend but a critical mechanism for the new (player-class) to assert its power and secure a stable framework of labor rights and protections.
For Regulators: The current patchwork of state laws and limited NCAA oversight is insufficient to govern this new economy. Policy must move beyond a "hands-off" approach and aim to create a stable, transparent, and equitable framework. This includes federal legislation to address antitrust concerns and ensure that NIL deals are for a "fair market value" rather than a disguised "pay-to-play" scheme.

Over time, I’ve become more and more numb to this kind of violence. After countless mass shootings and senseless killings like this , it’s sad to say that I’m not surprised by stuff like this.
This country is a mess and has been for a long time. We’re beyond the point of addressing it in my opinion.

You're rattled by the murder of a man who, at one point, directly stated in the aftermath of school shooting "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal."? That's what has you rattled enough to make a post? A post on which you opine about what's wrong with the country but don't even touch on the school shooting that left at least 3 high school aged kids in critical condition today?
Charlie Kirk did not deserve to be murdered, but acting like he's just someone who was out for open and honest debate is disingenuous at best. Kirk built his entire image and reputation on misinformation and antagonistic rhetoric.

At the very least, get context correct and don’t paint it as if he said “those three deaths were worth it”
He talked about freedoms having price tags. Driving. Kills 50,000 per year. He went on and on about that. Then he said “it’s worth to have a cost of, UNFORTUNATELY, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment.” I may not agree with everything he said, some of the misinformation, the election stolen, etc. But at least give context and the actual quote. One could say your slant on the quote is misinformation….

And he spoke about how there are no mass shootings at baseball games, airports, etc. He advocated for armed guards at schools. Idk if that’s the route I want, but it sure sounds like he wanted to try to prevent them while retaining the second.

If it isn’t misinformation, it is antagonistic rhetoric. The problem is the widespread lack of respect for human life and dignity. Lots of things can be pointed at as helping take us here, but the unfortunate reality is that this is where we are.

Misinformation? It was what he believed. And what he continued to state. And he did not believe in enhanced gun control measures. If 19 kids dying at Uvalde doesn't change your mind on gun access in this country then you think those deaths are an acceptable side effect. If we haven't reached a number or distribution of gun deaths that makes you say "this is enough" while saying gun deaths are necessary for the second amendment then you fundamentally believe all those deaths are worth it. Saying "I wish we had less" or "I wish they didn't happen" doesn't change that.

Other did he or anyone say gun deaths are necessary. You’re slanting it. Again. It is a reality. Just like obesity with our diets. Road rage deaths. I could go on for ages.
And who said I or Kirk aren’t for access changes? I haven’t studied them enough tbh. I know the background checks, etc. for handguns. Felons, etc.
What about the 380 million guns out there now? Confiscate them? Getaway cars for robberies? No more cars? The gun is a tool. I can 10000000% guarantee if there were zero guns then these unstable people would make homemade bombs out of everyday items. Or just run cars into groups of people. It just so happens the firearm is the easiest choice at this time.

Ah you're right. He didn't say they were necessary, he just said they are "worth it". Sending that message to a mother grieving the death of their 15 year old is so much better. I'm sorry my "slanting" distorted the message so much.
I guess you're right...gun control is such a complicated issue that only every other first world country has it figured out. Without any prolific "homemade bombs" side effect.

More tilting. Kirk never sent that message to a mother.
Perhaps, just MAYBE the gun is a tool that has no power within itself. Perhaps, just maybe, our country is so screwed in the head that media on both sides perpetuate that this stuff happens.
Maybe it’s all the prescriptions. Maybe it’s in the food. Maybe it’s genetic and we’ve got the genetic anti-lottery.
But one thing I do know: a gun can’t fire itself without a brain behind it. Be it a twisted one or a sane one

I can 100000% guarantee that a number of kids that have been shot have parents with guns. Parents that didn’t get rid of them after. Because that tool is safe in their hands. It won’t kill anyone unjustly.
You’re acting as if Kirk wrote a letter to the moms and said “screw you and your kids. Guns be good”
Context matters.

He stated it openly. But somehow because he didn't look a mother in the eyes when he said it it's not what he meant? The message reaches the target regardless. I'm done with this. You're going to move the goalposts however you want to try and believe he didn't find innocent deaths "worth it".

I don’t hold it against him in any way. He’s no different than 99.99% of people. To have true debate/discussion you have to keep emotion out of the arena. As soon as someone calls you on something, either rationally give a retort based in fact or rationale or concede. As soon as emotion takes hold, people say words they don’t mean. Or say them to try and get the other person to go off the rails.
To be honest, that is one of the traits about Kirk that I liked. You rarely saw him throw a barb at someone. If he did, it was after they had thrown a huge one at him and he would keep it light.

“Do you feel better now for trivializing the death of someone's father, husband, and friend? Or the lives of those lost in Columbia? Its not being on a high horse to have respect for another human being's life.
As for anonymity, you learn a lot more about a person when they think no one knows its them. When you're anonymous you show your true colors.”

Here’s another great quote from you:
“They aren't classless because they disagree with me User Logo tigerfan22334 - 1 decade ago 31Game Changer [2,030 pts / 90%] They are classless for joking about the murder of a fellow human just because it happened on the campus of our archrival. They are classless because on the day of a man who none of them know's death, all they can talk about is how much they disliked the man for no real founded reason.
If you haven't joked about the situation in Columbia or blasted the man who just died then this didn't apply to you and you can just move along.
There is a standard for what is considered classy. Holding people to that standard is not passing judgement, its holding people accountable for what they say.”

Exactly as I thought tigerfan22334. Whenever your side gets owned, you erase the history of it, shut down all communication and then try to go pick on someone less “mentally capable” than you. This is why feelings do not ever make any sense. Feelings are irrational. You felt Dean Smith deserved respect a few days after his death, for no other reason (allegedly) than he was deceased. Yet Charlie Kirk’s body temperature hadn’t even reached 95 and those ideals went out the window.
Next time deal in fact, not feeling. It’ll serve you way better

He wasn’t sending it to the girl’s mother. As you said. He was stating a fact. I don’t like the “worth it” part. Poor choice of words imo. But if you think he’d sit in front of that mother and say those words, you haven’t listened to him very much.
So you were 100% creating antagonistic rhetoric.
I’ve moved no goal posts. I’ve held reasonable discussion. You can not tell me what to do w the 380 million firearms. You will not answer the comment about cars. You probably won’t entertain the idea that the people of this country are brainwashed, pilled up and fed crap. Like literal feeding. Food. You most likely can’t fathom that the gun in itself is only a tool. And you’ve misspoken or straight up changed the words you attributed to myself and Kirk then sarcastically tried covering them up. That’s moving goal posts

The overarching theme is his speech was that freedom has a cost. Cars kill people. Scratch that, people driving cars kill people. Alcohol impaired judgement. As do drugs. Those people are mentally askew and get in a car and kill people. It’s not the car’s fault in any way.
But you chose one line. Just like the media left and right. You hate guns. But you do not hate cars that mentally impaired people kill others with every day

You’re taking what he said out of context and you know it. Have you watched his reels where he talks openly about his faith and his beliefs? Turn off MSNBC and get your news elsewhere. He welcomed open discussion and told those who disagree with him to come up to the front and talk. He scared the hell out of your side and that’s why he’s dead. Sad day for America no matter how you vote.

So supporting the second amendment, which has been around for centuries, because he realizes that freedoms can come, sometimes unfortunately, at a cost means he wasnt open to "honest " debate and was spreading "misinformation"? You sound either confused or out of your depth.

Violence is a natural response us humans have built into us.
We have the capability for self control. That is enforced by teachings from high IQ folks, often in religions or schools.
Most folks only experience violence through movies and maybe video games where it is not real and even the villains are kinda sane.
The truth is some folks are mean. Mental illness, mean, but t hurt, etc are not short term relevant. Violent people should be locked away. Cops keep arresting them and courts keep releasing them.

I don’t agree with Charlie Kirk’s viewpoints and believe he had a long history of spouting destructive narratives with the platform he had.
That sad, political violence is absolutely inexcusable. Nobody should ever have to fear for their life or fear for their general safety just because of having a different belief system. Not even a political belief but just a different belief in general.
Really hope the country and find a way to mend itself and we come together as American people and not members of any certain party or belief system.
Our fellow Americans and people to our left and right are not the enemy and right now, this country treats each other as such. Really sad times.

So you still don’t have an example.
But at least you got to use the word “spew” 🙄

I have no interest in debating politics lol.
It’s okay if we have different opinions. I don’t have any feelings about it either way.

You made a claim that suggested you wanted to debate.
But then when you were questioned about it…you can’t handle it.

You can tell the leftie talking points have gone out and they involve villifying Kirk as some kind of fringe Nazi like character who probably deserved what he got. Its despicable to anyone who's heard him speak but thats how they roll. They've done more to impugn his character since he was murdered than anything they've said about stabbing murder guy in Charlotte over the last several days.

I never once tried to initiate any type of debate lol.
All I did was state what I believe and followed it up with it’s okay if someone doesn’t agree, it’s not a big deal to me lol.

I didn’t mention either of those things.
I just stated what I believe, as everyone else has done and as Charlie Kirk did.
You don’t have to agree with anything I say just as I don’t have to see eye to eye with every belief system you carry.
It’s okay for us to have a difference of opinions. I’m not going to lose sleep over it.

You don’t seem to understand how this works. It’s OK to start with your baseless, unsubstantiated personal attacks as long as you quickly follow up with how sorry you are about what happened.

Charlie engaged people in an open forum. He allowed them to bring their logic or lack there of to the microphone and debate and now he's been murdered for it. It's disgusting.

What rises in its place will involve a lot of money and the ability to recruit on an every year cycle. Unless spending caps and contracts are put into place then the transfer portal and NIL will be the topic every year instead how good of a recruiting class we got.

The answer to your question is really quite simple to quote, but less simple to implement:
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Anyone with an ounce of discernment will recognize this was an evil demonic act. The veil is thinning, meaning the evil of the supernatural world is regularly manifesting itself. I went into the book store in Anderson Mall awhile back and the very first shelf as I entered on the left was entirely dedicated to the occult, divination, casting spells, curses, astral projection…you name it and it was there. The occult book isle was about twice as big as the Christian book shelf. Supply meeting demand! A vast majority of men are laser focused on laying up treasures in this world rather than the eternal world to come. This ain’t complicated. Time to get your/our house in order.
