Good couple of games, guys. Clemson played well.

Listen I know losing sucks and there is little solace in playing a good game. I was impressed by the performance of your two young pitchers, Gossett and Meyers. They pitched very well and are going to win a lot of games for you down the road.
Anyway, good game and hoping that next year's games will be just as exciting.
By the way, Clemson does have a much better team than many on here seem to be willing to give them credit for.
Peace.

Rogue,
I was at the game earlier in the year at Joe Riley Park in Charleston. As that game was also drama packed, I find myself very frustrated as a Tiger fan. The drama is consistently leaving Gamecock fans happy, and not the other way around.
These games, while great college baseball games in an awesome rivalry, have left our Tigers right on the edge w/o getting over the hump.
Anyway, congrats on your regional. We made you earn it.

Thank u for the post but why does a gamecock fan have 6000 posts on this site unless u secretly love our tigers. It was a great series and the thing that bothers me the most is that ray has three freshman from this state that our coach won't recruit. Hate to say it but good for you guys but always gooooo tigers

Re: " why does a gamecock fan have 6000 posts on this site unless u secretly love our tigers"
Well, let's see....I've been a member for 9 years...that's a pretty long time. I used to post more when the board was more ameniable to Gamecock posters involved in the discussions on the board. Also, I posted on The Lounge a good bit...still miss the conversations on that board.
As to why...I come from a Clemson family and always enjoy the good-natured part of the rivalry. Though I've learned that some do and some don't. Now, the few times I do post, I attempt to be respectful in every thing I type even in disagreement or when I have a contrary opinion.
Hope that answers your question.
Peace.

Not mealy-mouthing. I do think Clemson has an excellent baseball program and that Leggett is one of the best coaches in the country. Not saying he's the best, but he'd be awful hard to replace with someone better in my opinion.
What I don't understand is the Dabo love-fest versus the criticism of Leggett. Dabo hasn't had half the success of Leggett...especially if you consider CWS appearances for baseball to be equivalent to BCS Bowls for football...but Leggett seems to get much more criticism. Clemson is a recognized power in baseball, not in football...at least not since Danny Ford was fired. By the way, same as Leggett, I also have a lot of respect for Ford, he was one helluva coach....eventhough I hated him beating my Gamecocks in the manner he did.

Re: So how did you fall over to the dark side?***

Started at Clemson in the early 80's in Mech. Engineering. After a year and a half decided I didn't like engineering and wanted to major in Finance and Accounting. At the time Clemson didn't have a finance major (Clemson did have a financial management major which was a little different) and my engineering advisor suggested I try USC.
That combined with the fact that I was one of the few who didn't like the bucolic atmosphere at Clemson (I chalk it up to the fact I had unreasonable expectations after growing up going to Clemson football games) led me to enroll at USC and fell in love with the place. It does sometimes happen that way.

You are the exception my friend but I do respect the fact that you can talk intelligently about a game, win or lose, w/o degrading other posters. Still can't wish you luck though! Peace.

No, left with a 2.7 gpa if I remember correctly...not great but far from flunking out.
You know...it is possible for people to feel more comfortable at one institution over another, even if it is not one that you would choose.

U seem pretty reasonable even tough u pull for the wrong team lol. However go tigers and beat gamecocks. And peace to u man

Disagree with u here dabo young. Jack been coaching my tigers for like 19 years. Dabo aimt perfect but will end up either being a legend like Howard or a bust. Dabo is a class act period. I am a patient fan. Remember we r a small town college in foothills of south Carolina. We will compete wirh the best and win some and lose some but we r a solid program all around. Will take dabo over spurrier anyday spurrier is an ###

Never said Dabo wasn't a nice guy or that he lacked class. Dabo may or may not be a good head coach one day...and my opinion (not that I really gave one) will have zero impact on his success or lack thereof. I was simply drawing a comparison between the criticism that Leggett receives, despite his proven record, and the love that Dabo receives without (as yet) showing similar success.
And everyone that roots for a team that Spurrier isn't coaching thinks he's an ###.
