in any sport in any era. Fact is? No one else even comes close.
There may be someone you like better but not a single one in any sport comes close to accomplishing what this man has for our school.
From the trainwreck left behind after Ford was shown the door to the pinnacle of the sport for a decade, Coach Swinney has built a beast. The facts are indisputable.
Pretty sure you contrarians hate puppies and kittens too.

Love puppies and kittens and love Dabo for what he has accomplished, but I don’t love any of them more than Clemson football itself. Let’s get that straight.
Even goats eventually have to change or hang it up. Let’s hope Dabo adapts and gets the mojo back. He has shown this ability in the past, but may be facing an uphill battle if he continues to allow other teams to have an advantage in roster building.
No one person is bigger than Clemson itself.

Agree 100% but he is not the same guy now that took over then. Needs to get out of his own way and let his hires do what they are paid to do. We all read about how he kept notes on how he would build a program one day and it worked to perfection. BUT the rules have changed now and he has no road map for what is going on. There has to be (and I hate to say the portal word) that would fit his needs and fit in with the culture that he could pick up in the Portal. Are there not guys that we offered that have developed and may still want to come here? I hope he stays as long as he wants and I believe he will have us back on top one day. He’s too driven not too

As a CEO or manager of the program...

He has hired extremely well. When changes are needed he has consistently done the right thing.
From day 1, moving on from Rob Spence and then Napier to the Chad, to the WV debacle and the Venebles hire, to our current situation with our young DC and now Garret Riley, Dabo has made changes when needed.
Man, I know from personal experience, not every hire can be a homerun. But he seems to have a good balance of loyalty and adaptation where necessary, to find the right fit.
This team went from an ACC also ran, to winning 10 games, to competing for ACC and then National Championships. Last year, we were a muffed punt from the playoff AGAIN. We struggled with a QB that didn't fit the system, to changing the system and a new QB. The defense is full of absolute monsters.
You don't add miracle grow to achieve success in football. I hear the portal chatter. I know paying players is the new way. And MAYBE, we can't compete doing it the right way with loyalty and development. Maybe mercenaries are the only path forward.
BUT dammmm yall, give the best coach to ever walk through the valley a chance to do what he does best....LEAD.
And yall won't likely ever see a true leader the likes of Dabo Swinney at Clemson, the man who every single future coach will be compared forever.

Agree, but the pace of change may be outstripping his ability to adapt. The proof is on the field. We've underachieved for several yeas in a row now. Changing coaches is good but unfortunately we are now merely keeping up or getting left behind in other areas that matter to recruits and players. We've grown stale and most of the media is only too happen to point it out and cheer it on.

Went to school here when Frank Howard was coach and expectations were low...all of you are `spoilt` we now have the loftiest expectations in college and whine and moan when we don't win it all! Maybe we were not quite prepared to start the season at Duke but the second half Saturday was real Clemson football...even the waterboy is draftable...cheer of FH era..`up the middle up the middle pass punt` bet yall would love that!

The issue is that those accomplishments are in the increasingly distant past. More recently, we’ve underachieved and failed to maintain that incredible success.

The playoff last year.
as a fan of Clemson basketball, I think you of all people should probably re-calibrate what your definition of increasingly distant past relative to success should mean?
I don’t put my head in the sand. We lost to every decent opponent on the schedule last year.
And while we can acknowledge that the defense had some growing pains with a new coordinator, the office was really what needed attention. Dude hired the hottest name in sports. 48 hours later, you guys are expecting a juggernaut and quite frankly we’re close cept for crazy turnovers.
cade got flustered under the lights. He’s 19 shouldn’t be shocking.
I’m teaching my oldest to drive recently. She got flustered in a four-way stop sign situation. Should I pull the plug? Sorry kid you’re just not suited to drive. Let’s make a change.

We have significant issues. Some of us tried to warn you, but you wouldn't listen because you said that we were jealous of the football program, Coots, bots, or employed by Crump to generate clicks for TigerNet.
Well, here we are. The reality is our program has fallen a lot. We aren't elite or even close to elite anymore. We are a poorly coached team who has underachieved the last two years, and is on pace to do the same this year.
Keep living in the past if you wish, but the longer you do that, the more you're drifting farther and farther away from reality.

Can’t argue much with that. But Even Secretariat had to be put down once he became a bad return on investment.

he’s a bad investment? i’m guessing you’re a bitcoin guy.
First question… why? what about the program justifies this absurd notion? because he recruits young men and has archaic notions about that commitment? if we were 5-7 last year, i MIGHT see your point but we won the ACC Championship. bet you wanted him to go after the USF Bowl loss too. how would that have worked out?
second, can you share your short list of replacement alternatives?
bunch of knee jerk nancies around here. never built anything. never sustained anything. just snarky moaning and groaning.

Yes he is ranked 13th best all time with an 805 win percentage, Nick Saban is 14th with 804.
