wow! If there is still any doubt on who designs and calls our “offensive” plays, this should remove it.
This is also why it will be a miracle if Dabo is self aware to fix all the things now.
This will be a bumpy few years!

Well we have four more weeks to get it right.
I’m sure the appropriate amount of practice time will be put towards it. Probably move to the top of the list, right in front of the Peter Woods handoff.

Maybe the kid has been busting his rear and practice they had that play drawn up to reward him. It was when it was called that bothered me. It also was not a very good throw from CK. Put a little more air under it and it was a TD.

This hasn’t been accurate many times at all this year. Most of Cade’s poor throws have been long balls that had way too much air under them, forcing the WR to slow down and wait for the ball and give the DB time to catch up and make a play. Vizinna throws a much better long ball.

Dabo makes too much money to constantly be thinking about "disney plays". What year was it where he was planning all game for the beach kicker to win the game and then he missed? This is all getting very, very tiresome. I want my Clemson football back, I'm not a Dabo football fan.

I would imagine during your lifetime Dabo IS Clemson football. I’ve been through Frank Howard, Hootie (didn’t have a clue), Red pretty good but just couldn’t get it done, Pell got it done with Reds recruits then bailed, Danny, good times but sealed his on fate, Hatfield almost as bad as Hootie, West great guy but out of his league at the time, Tommy “but we won 8 games” Bowden
Dabo the best thing to happen to Clemson athletics. He will figure things out and adjust

well unlike our sorry D they cared enough to look and cover the most unlikely and unthreatning guy on the field. If I were Dabo I dont think I would have shared that. It is embarrassing

The gimmick play was not a success because Pendergrass was covered fairly well.
Even had the pass been thrown with a bit more air underneath it, the actual catch would have, given the coverage and that Pendergrass was both moving and twisting, been difficult for a non-skill player.
Sure, maybe he would have made a catch that revealed Pendergrass’ unexpected athleticism.
Truly, though, the entire premise of a trick play is to TRICK the other team. The play didn’t ‘trick’ Duke.
Did anyone on our staff have a Plan B (even if that ‘Plan B’ was something simple such as CK2 keeping the ball and running straight forward in hopes that a hole had opened up) or was the only option if Pendergrass was covered was to loft a longer pass?
…..
Big shame on us that we don’t use crossing routes on pass plays very often. Had our offense practiced those fundamental plays against our defense, then maybe SMU (esp in 4th Qtr against us) and Duke wouldn’t have skinned our defense alive by doing those plays.
Instead, we spend valuable practice time on some circus side show play.

just the latest example of clueless coaching. we were running it down their throats , not the time to call something that stupid. This proves why you cant expect Dabo to fix this mess, he is the biggest problem!!!!
