A grand jury would indict a ham sandwich if asked to do so

Only thing needed is “probable cause”, majority of jury and there’s no defense.
Conviction requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt, unanimous jury and defense can present argument, question witnesses etc.

Yeah that sounds good and totally how it is supposed to work but the rich and powerful have always gotten a different brand of justice.

Much the same as EO's can be wiped away buy the next guy, that SCOTUS ruling can and will be used by the next President. Folks forget the sun does not shine on the same dogs behind all the time. That is why we are supposed to have separation of power, an unbiased judiciary and a functional Congress.

I would add that the Executive branch should not be occupied by an ego maniac with narcissistic tendencies. But that is what was elected, cannot make this stuff up. Idiocracy is here.

I just don't see Democratic Presidents, and hopefully future Republican Presidents, being this aggressively corrupt.

A jury of his peers unanimously agreed that he was guilty as charged on all 34 counts.
Let's see how this progresses.
What is your understanding of what she did in this case?

The venue was wrong, along with State Court instead of federal court.
Trump’s ‘crime’ was, according to NY State, election interference. The ‘proof’ of that ‘election interference’ was the accounting records in which the payments to Trump attorney Michael Cohen were called ‘legal expense’ whereas the NY jury was told that these accounting records should have said ‘hush money payoff to Stormy Daniels.’
State of NY had no standing to convict based on ‘election interference’ because Trump did not win the State of NY’s electors.
Furthermore, election interference on the national scale (for which theoretical standing would apply on the national level, since Trump did win the 2016 presidential election) requires that a federal court try the case.
Yet, crooked NY State’s judicial system said ‘no no no we want this federal matter to be tried in state court’ and the Democrat-judge stacked Southern District of NY federal court refused to hear the Trump / Stormy Daniels case after State of NY came out with their legally incorrect verdict.
That case has dissolved into irrelevancy since there are no major punishments for Trump and Trump win 2024 election anyway despite that BS verdict.

Trump has picked fights with the two worst opponents he could have chosen. James and Comey are too smart and charismatic. This is not going to end well for Trump and Pam.

L.James: “No one is above the law.”
Mortgage fraud, as pertains to home loans that are written in accordance to FHFA standards (and which makes those home loans eligible to be purchased by Fannie Mae), is a federal crime.
There might be an argument for a person who is ignorant of the law and of how mortgages are done gets convinced by the bank’s loan officer to sign a mortgage application without reading the document, or being instructed (with either deliberate deception or inattentiveness) to inadvertently sign off on an incorrect mortgage loan document.
However, for a person of ‘magnificent’ legal skills, as is clearly (sarcasm meter is on fire) such as the State of NY Attorney General to not be smart enough to understand a mortgage loan application and then sign such a document (certify that the information is understood and true) to be ‘misled’ by the mortgage loan officer and to not possess the wherewithal to neither read nor understand the mortgage loan application defies all excuses.
She committed mortgage fraud, and as one of the highest stature officers of the court, she should be held to a higher standard than the average schmuck. BTW, ‘average schmucks’ go to jail when convicted of mortgage fraud.
Yet, here we are. Leticia No One Is Above The Law James commits mortgage fraud … her signature is on the fraudulent documents, which she does not dispute … and then cries that she shouldn’t be held accountable EVEN AFTER she convicts a private citizen whose politics she didn’t like of a non-federal crime version of mortgage fraud.
If it weren’t for double standards, leftists would have no standards.
