Should a 6 month old be taken to a game?

I can't believe someone would actually consider taking an infant to a game. There was a post on a Clemson fan facebook page asking if a 6mo needed a ticket.

I can't think of a more miserable time, mostly for the wife, than to take an infant to a football game:

Noise
Heat
No quality nap time
Steps
Tight seating
Just the fact that a seat would be lugged all over the parking lots and stadium

Stay home and watch the baby and game. Everyone, including your stadium neighbors will be happier.

I was 6 months old at my first game. Allegedly, I lasted 5 minutes into the first quarter lol

They grow up fast now and make a lot of noise for the home field advantage, we should have a nursing section for those 6 months to 3 years old, equal rights for these youngsters just learning their pronouns!

We took em. But whoa was it tough. Come to think of it, now that they’re considerably older, it’s still tough.

Thanks. I’ll save MUCHO DINERO if I leave them all at home!!

I took mine as a 1 yr old, but I def would wait for a evening game or avoid an early season game in the afternoon. That heat can be brutal, heat would be my only concern.

We took ours at 9 months and wish we hadn't. Big hassle. Never took them back until much older. Now they love it an appreciate it. I think parents have good intentions, but don't realize the potential issues until its too late.

I would never take a 6 month old child to a game unless you had a tailgate spot in the shade, a good fan and stayed out with the baby while the fam went to the game. Back when our children were young, we had 2 seats on the North side and 2 on the South and took our girls who were maybe 3 and 4 at the time. Our youngest sat with with my wife and was sound asleep before the end of the 1st quarter. We had a baby sitter for the next game.

The only reason to do it is so you can tell people years later that they've been going to games since they were six months old.

to cover them. Taking the kid is less expensive than paying babysitter for 12-24-48 hours depending on their plans. Plenty of people do it. I wouldn’t if there are other good trustworthy affordable options. Definitely not in Aug/September. We took our oldest to first game at 7 months. It was November. We got unlucky with the weather and it was unseasonably hot that day. We waited until our 2nd was 3. Options were different as to babysitting/wife staying home. At no time was “I want them to be able to say they went to their first game at x part of the equation”. We took the first one at 7 mos because we were meeting other family and friends for that game. It all worked out.

Realistically how long is a 6 month old gonna make it at a game?

If you have a nice tailgate with folks who can help out great, but actually physically in the stadium seems like a bad idea. I'd much rather actually watch the whole game at home than spend half a quarter watching it in person.

I’ve always wondered why people do this. We had a family that sat near us for years and they brought all 3 of their kids at a young age. Too much work getting up and down. You can’t enjoy the game. Tailgating maybe? The game no way. Tailgating only if it’s not hot. I would just stay home with the baby and let my husband go and enjoy himself if we didn’t have help with the baby.

I understand why people want to do it because of the sentimental value of Clemson football within families. But having brought my kids just to tailgate for a few hours, I’ll tell you I won’t be bringing them into any games until they’re like 5-6 at least. It’s too loud, too hot, and you have to walk way too far for it to be enjoyable for them and it’s even less enjoyable for me lol.

Nope a baby should not be taken to a game at that age. Unfortunately this seems to be a common occurrence w young parents these days🤷‍♂️

I sat directly beside a couple during a day game, it was pretty hot out, no clouds and they had probably a 4-6 month old with them. They had ear muffs on the baby. So, make of it what you will.

We took our older son to his first game when he was six WEEKS old. He slept through the entire game (even sitting next to FSU's band in Tallahassee) and he has been a Tiger ever since. He graduated last year and loves the school.
Don't judge how other people raise their kids. Why does that even matter to you?

Matter? No. Dumb? Extremely. I mean what was the point? I'm sure he remembers that game vividly. Grow up get a babysitter.

You see those tiny babies from time to time. I get the excitement to dress them in Clemson gear and show them off but you are right. It's way too much for them.

If I'm not mistaken didn't the stadium start offering noise blocking headsets at one of the gates a few years back? It's a good idea. I may start wearing them to block out the bad music being blasted. lol

Back to your point I just could not take an infant to the game.
