Sherrod Covil and the rings

As you know, I was at the NIL event Sunday at the Madren Center, getting to know the freshmen a little better. I will say this about Sherrod - he has unshakeable confidence in himself and is never quiet. He talks to anybody and everybody, he's funny, and I have no doubt he will be a great leader on this team one day.
But he was arguing with Caden Story about rings - he was telling Caden that he has two championship rings from high school and that they mean more because he won them in one year. He said that he won one in the spring because of Covid, and then another in the fall, therefore his two rings are better than someone who has two from two different years. It was hilarious, as you would expect, because he was extremely animated and Story was having none of it.
At that point, Kobe McCloud decided to join in, and he says that both Covil and Story have no room to talk because they didn't play in Florida. He told them to come down and play St. Thomas Aquinas and schools like that every week and then brag. McCloud bragged about winning something (it wasn't a state championship) and Story turned around, stone faced, and said, "You only won because someone had to." He then turned around and started arguing with Covil again, and I cracked up.
This group really likes each other, they've already bonded, and are having fun.

Great to read, glad they are already bonding and having a good time. Always good to know we have leaders in the making.

I love this. One thing that makes a team very special is love. If they Love each other, they battle for each other. This is going to be a special group! Will be fun to watch.

Covil also showed up to the UA AA game with a custom Clemson $2 bill backplate and when asked about Coach V leaving replied, “one pony don’t stop no show.”

Heard there was a NIL event in Columbia where two freshmen were talking about rings. An upperclassman overhears them. Tells them that Scrubbing Bubbles will take care of that...
