How the year ended was a disappointment. The stated goal is for Omaha but most were probably just hoping to make the Super Regionals. The recent barrage of negativity and trolling is ridiculous. Bakich does a good job of getting the most out of players and this team was lacking in talent. Injuries also reduced the lineup to no alternatives and pitching to a skeleton crew of dependable arms. Winning 45 games, being one win from winning the ACC regular season, and postseason tournament, paints a much different picture than all the pissing and moaning.
The team was middle of the road in pitching and fielding (9), and the bottom half in batting (11) in the ACC. They were far from the worst team in the tournament in average and power. People spouting how terrible the team was, don't know what they are talking about. So it was a midlevel statistical ACC performance that almost won the ACC. That's called overachieving.
The lack of talent is on Bakich and he deserves some skepticism and pressure for the product on the field this year. BUT,
Calling to fire him is the single dumbest thing on this board. He needs to fix things and recruit better. Maybe some coaching changes will a happen. He took this job and understands the expectations.
The team has hosted three straight regionals, been to a Super, and won 44, 44, and 45 games a year, in his three years. Plenty of 1 seeds are also struggling/eliminated this year. Get some perspective.
GO TIGERS!

in all 3 categories. While I agree Bakich far exceeded the # of wins he should have gotten with this team, we should never be lower half in all 3 categories and that is on him as well

Are serious. I think it’s just trolls, coots, bored people. This guy ever gets a true Clemson level roster he’ll win the whole thing. Just gotta figure out this NIL and recruiting bit. Need starting pitching and power from the plate.

Bakich isn’t going anywhere right now unless he leaves for another job.
Having said that, Clemson is a Top 16 baseball school, a school that cares about and supports baseball. It can be done here on a very high level. Fans are definitely frustrated with getting embarrassed on their home field on the national stage come postseason time, and that’s understandable. This issue didn’t start with Bakich , it goes all the way back to Leggett’s last 3 or 4 seasons, however Bakich is the only one still around to blame for it, so that’s why he’s getting screamed at.
The lack of focus and downright embarrassing play today is a slap in the face to Bakich and the coaching staff today by the players. It shows little respect for the game and makes me worry the players aren’t scared to fail and be held accountable by the coaches.
I firmly believe that what we seen today is the result of having an influx of transfers who probably do not get sick at their stomachs when they let down their coach and fans. THAT TEAM TODAY DID NOT CARE . This isn’t a team full of bad baseball players, but they had no respect for Clemson Baseball today.

Yeah I think a large part of the frustration has to do more with the 15 years it’s been since Omaha and not solely the fact that Bakich hasn’t been there yet. Leggett didn’t make it back for his final 6 years, Lee never made it in 7 years here, and now Bakich is on year 3 but it’s year 15 total and so the seat is naturally hotter.

Truth. That’s what bothered me the most. Watching them run ruled multiple times this season and it didn’t seem to #### them off. Hate to say it, but this team reminded me of the Lee teams, just going through the motions. Having that mindset in baseball will kill a team’s season and it did.

But why do so many pitchers have these injuries that other teams don’t? Every team we played this weekend had a deeper set of solid pitching than us. No one I can remember we played had a skeleton crew like us?

Great post. It would be nice to have a post season discussion on our current state. I know some of you on here are/were coaches etc. A discussion that doesn't include cheap shots or firing the coach.
I know that EB has a security blanket and ties to upper mid-west, but our recruiting footprint is mainly local and Georgia. Not to say good players aren't everywhere but this isn't like football. Anyway, I am getting concerned a bit because the talent doesn't seem to be getting better.
