Ole Miss and Vandy have defense on par with the best in the ACC... but Ole Miss and Vandy are nowhere near the best in the SEC on D.

FSU played NOBODY last year other than Clemson and Florida. Against Clemson they gave up 37 points, and against Florida they gave up 37 points.
Their defensive numbers were an illusion because of their incredibly soft schedule.

Well, I guess the only slander your conference deserves is that it apparently takes games off because they "don't want to be there" (UF and LSU).

I'm sure both UF and LSU weren't as enthused to play in the bowl games they were in because they expected more of their seasons while their opponents were pumped to be there. And nobody was giving their opponents a chance. They had something to prove.
But so what.
LSU and UF got beat.

We began playing our second team defense at the start of the second quarter. We started shuffling our first string secondary back in after UNC scored, then th d-line as UNC was making another drive.
Excuses or not, this game seemed to be wrapped up after the first quarter. Any personnel decisions made after that could have been done for a myriad of reasons.

Calling it SEC defense, or SEC speed, or SEC anything else is lumping a bunch of different teams together of varying levels and trying to brand things which simply don't hold across the board.
