Do you think you have a chance of winning the NC this year?

Clemson became my #2 team two years ago. I'm hoping you win it all since my beloved Arkansas won't. I have developed a residual hate for those Florida State c0cksuckers, so I must be at least half a Clemson fan.

see how the UGA game goes

they look like a major rebuild project on defense but nasty on offense, so I think we put up some points I just want to see our defense contain them. We won't stop UGA but if we show some signs on defense vs them, look out.

The Ga game is obviously key, not only because it is the first game, but because it's against what will be a top 10 team at the end of the season. It will let us see how much our defense has progressed and how well our offense will gel with guys getting more playing time than they have in the past and some playing new positions.
The question is, are we a legitimate national title contender and the answer is an unequivocal yes. We're not the dominant favorite, but the path to the NCG is clear. UGa is the first step and there are 12 more right after that, some of them bigger than others, but none will be bigger than the game(s) we lose (if such a thing were to happen).

If we win the NC..........

I'll probably have a chit fit.
But seriously, we will be in the mix without a doubt. First beat the Dawgs, then everyone else on the schedule to get to the coots. Kick their tails in their house and go get the icing on the cake in the form of being crowned National Champions.
Go Tigers!!

I don't think beating the coots is the "cake," bub.

but only if its defense improves greatly. You won't have to wait long to find out if Clemson is for real, as they face a great offensive team in Georgia in their first game.

Destiny has given us the opportunity with a preseason ranking of note and a major game right off the bat.
The rest will be up to us.

Only FSU, South Carolina, and our BCS opponent stand in our way.
Win those three, and it's ours.

We don't hate FSU. It's fun to play them and that has been our biggest game every year since they joined (and in 88 and 89, that was our biggest game also). Hopefully we are tied together come whatever conference realignments occur. For so many years they were considered one of the top two or three teams in the country, so when we finally started to beat them, it meant a lot.

I don't know why you wouldn't hate FSU. Bunch of straight-up dickheads from my experience. Almost as bad as LSU, but not quite.

We will need to run the table and get a few good breaks. 12-0 has a good chance at going to a title game but we can't get caught looking ahead. We need to focus on Georgia first and then down the road we can focus on FSU, South Carolina, and the rest.

Our best chance in a long while. This Clemson team is loaded with talent.
Questions remain on defense.
August 31st really does tell the tale. Two explosive offenses going at it.
My prediction for the difference in the game rest on the shoulders of a very talented sophomore......
Travis Blanks!!!
Go Tigers!!!!

Yes, Blanks will be a key to winning against UGa. DL play will also be huge, not only in getting pressure against Murray, but also in containing UGa's run game.
The defense will need to hold their own against the OL in the run game and generate at least some pressure in the passing game. LB play will be important in both aspects as UGa likes to take advantage of their athletic TEs and they have the personnel to do so. They return a lot of receivers, but those guys haven't been incredibly productive in the past. That said, they'll all be a year older and have another summer to work on their timing with a senior QB.
On offense, I like what we bring to the table all around, but really think that getting the run game going is the most important thing we can do. I don't like the Clemson offense nearly as well if it's centered on big plays in the passing game. I really want more ball control so we can play keep away from UGa's offense.
