Scott Frost

Sep 14, 2022, 11:02 AM

I would love to see Dabo pursue Frost as an offensive analyst. It would be great for both sides. Frost is still an offensive guru and Dabo can show him how to run a major P5 program.

Anybody else?

Yeah hopefully it will improve, but I’ve been very leery of the Streeter higher from the beginning. Seems like you’re just plugging a guy in to do the same thing as the previous guy. The opposition catches up to you after a while

Sep 14, 2022, 1:04 PM [ in reply to there was an article about this - how does Frost fit ]

I don't know much about his personality. I am suggesting that we hire him in an analyst role. Analysts aren't on-field coaches and they don't interact with recruits. They simply sit in the film rooms and help gameplan with the coaches. Frost would be a great addition for that role.

Frost has head coaching aspirations. It failed at Nebraska. Who better to learn from than Dabo?

What recent history, specifically? He had Ted Roof as a defensive analyst.

I don't know anything about Frost's character, but outside that issue, it wouldn't be unprecedented.

He was the head coach at Nebraska, not the OC. His focus wasn't solely on offense, but the entire program. I'm asking to bring him in and allow him to only focus on offensive game planning, while being able to learn from one of the top three coaches in college football.

Re: Scott Frost

Sep 14, 2022, 4:21 PM

Too simplistic to just look at his record. You can be the architect of an innovative offense but you dont have a prayer to overcome a talent gap. or maybe you just suck at making adjustments in the game, and that gets you the Loss. Could've had a great plan and have all the ability to make the right adjustments on the field, but you just dont.

Re: Scott Frost

Sep 15, 2022, 10:55 AM [ in reply to Re: Scott Frost ]

I don't see how people can't separate the two. Someone can be a great OC and an innovative mind while not being a great head coach. There's so much more to being the HC compared to the OC. I believe that Dabo is a great person to learn from. Frost would be motivated to learn from one of the top three coaches in college football.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Scott Frost did well at Oregon and UCF

Sep 14, 2022, 7:05 PM

I thought he should have been selected as head coach at UO after Chip Kelly left instead of Mark Helfrich.

Scott Frost is an old school football coach who was very creative on the offensive side before crashing at Nebraska. Personality-wise, I don't think he'd be a good fit working for Dabo.

He'll be somebody's OC next year and I expect him to do well.
