I think Brad B deserves a lot of praise for doing more with less. Plus

Clemson has beat Miami who is #1 in the ACC and they beat Louisville and Duke. All three teams are ranked. IMO Brad B is one or two key players away from Clemson's best season ever. I think 2016/2017 could be a good year for the Tigers football , basketball and baseball teams.
I don't think a coaching change is the answer at this time. Let's see what the new Littlejohn renovations will do for Clemson BB.

and in basketball, not football.
It's Clemson's problem, not Brad's.
if he was recruiting at virtually any other ACC school it would be different,
but Clemson has absolutely zero cache or history as a basketball school.
Stop kidding yourselves - the number is actually "0".
6, 10, 12 years - it's meaningless -
Yes, he's got to get to the dance some,
but if the team is competitive and improving year to year,
Brad's done his job well.

1 ACC regular season 1st place finish.
2 ACC championship finals game appearances.
0 ACC championships.
We are the worst program in the history of ACC men's basketball.

Add in the 0-for-whatever in Chapel Hill and you have a long history of basketball misery. Still love the team though - it makes the successes that much sweeter!
So please, don't tell me you expect Clemson to be an NCAA Tourney team every year, and make an Elite 8 appearance every 3-4 years. We may get there someday, but that's not realistic right now.

We will lose Nnoko and will Djitte be a solid replacement? Roper will be gone. Blossongame might be gone too. We may be worse next year. We obviously need Blossongame to return.

Roper's loss is a non-factor.
Nook's loss though will be meaningful.
A lot will depend on how quickly the transfers acclimate themselves, and
since they have already been practicing this should not be an issue.
Next year really depends on how much Donte Grantham steps up -
it will be time for him to start pushing Blossomgame as the leader of the team.
If DG starts to meet his potential consistently,
they'll go to the dance as a likely mid-seed.

And determines that another year in college would give him a better chance of playing for an NBA team and not spending most of the time on the bench and then getting sent down to the development league.

then and even better one betting on himself and taking a 1-year deal with Philly instead of a multi-year deal. He had a great 1st season in Philly, and what has happened since then is NOT a product of his decision to leave after his JR season. At this point i think the blame has to fall largely on Houston.

Can't shoot jumpers consistently, doesn't know the offense, etc.
He is athletic and plays good defense. But he is not going to see the court much on most NBA teams.

And 1 extra year in college was going to change that?

You can't overhaul a jumper in 1 year, and it certainly wouldn't have happened in college because he was already very productive and there would've been no reason to screw with something like that going into his SR year. Not knowing the offense? Obviously one more year in the Clemson offense wouldn't improve his ability to learn a *different* offensive system.
KJ is what he is, and he was always going to be a high energy role player. He needs to be a piece coming off the bench on a playoff caliber team. Somebody you can put out there for 15-20 minutes and know you are going to get maximum effort, solid defense and rebounding for his position, weak side rim protection, and maybe a few athletic finishes. He was also shooting the ball a little better in Philly when he was actually getting some run.
Things went really well for him in year 1, and i still think there's plenty of hope for KJ, but it seems clear now that he needs to get out of Houston.
Anyway, the argument that he isn't playing right now because he made some huge mistake leaving after his JR year is just absurd.

I think Brownell has done a pretty good job this season all things considered. He doesn't have a true home court advantage but has managed to pull out some impressive wins in conference. More help is on the way next season with the three talented transfers and Spencer plus he will have a renovated Littlejohn that will hopefully boost recruiting.

No doubt the out of conference losses are hurting our RPI and resume but the team has rebouded the second half of the season. We do need to do a much better job next season of not digging ourselves a hole we can't dig out of.

I find it astonishing that so many dismiss performance as a criteria for a coach.
