Paradise by the dashboard light

What an iconic song. RIP Meatloaf lost some big names so far in 2022.
I remember seeing an interview with him where he said on a night he was contemplating suicide his late mother came back and talked him out of it.
Maybe he's back with her today.

Going from
And it's cold and lonely In the deep, dark night. I can see Paradise, By the Dashboard Light.
thru
I couldn't take it any longer, LAWD, I was crazed And then the feeling came upon me like a tidal wave, I started swearing to my God and on my mother's grave, That I would love you till the end of time, I SWORE I would love you till the end of time...
to finally
So now, I'm praying for the end of time To hurry up and arrive, 'Cause if I got to spend another minute with you, I don't think that I can really survive.
I'll never break my promise, Or forget my vow, But God only knows, What I could do right now,
Praying for the end of time, That's all that I can do, Praying for the end of time, So I can end...my..time, with YOU.
Fare thee well, Meat Loaf. The term "One of a Kind" gets overused, but you certainly were.

I gave you a thumbs up for referencing Leap of Faith movie!! Very underrated movie with a great cast. Steve Martin and MeatLoaf as you mentioned, but also Debra Winger and Liam Neeson. May have to go back and watch it again.

RIP.
You can’t say “No, I won’t do that.” without thinking of him.

I really hate that. My favorite line in one of his songs is, "You've got a lot to learn about Rock-n-Roll!!!".

I hated Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I saw it numerous times for the midnight showing. It was a great place to meet people... make that drunk people.

I always brought the newspaper to the midnight showing so as not to get wet. Let's do the time warp again!

I do understand that you are supposed to watch it with a group. But, I'm too old for that now.

I didn't bring any items to the show, but it was fun to see it all happening.

I know I'm going to sound like a low-life and I recognize he was very talented, but who really thought he was entertaining as a singer? I just never got it even though his singing abilities were as strong as anyone's. What am I missing?

I always thought he sucked as well and never got it myself. There are a lot of artists that I thought sucked. KISS would be one. Some of the biggest rockers in the world now love KISS and were influenced big time. Dave Grohl and Tom Morello were.

KISS...after 50 years of doing it they have some good tunes, but no question they were far better performers than musicians.
