Friday - Went to the big city (Pickens) for the Blue Ridge Fest. Saw millions of dollars worth of really cool cars, met the Gubner, saw The Spinners (dang good throwback show)
Sattidy - Spent $200 on mulch, soil and plants, then worked in the yard. Made multiple mint juleps (If you didn't make them with Woodford Reserve, you made them wrong), watched the derby and grilled steaks
Sunday - more yard work, took the boat out late for a spin, grilled some chicken kabobs and crashed
9.2/10 - wood dew again with less yard work

Friday: Prep for Saturday.
Saturday: The gson was baptized in the morning. We hosted the celebration in the afternoon. I managed to corral the gkids long enough for a quick picture. Maria is holding the man of the day and the old man has his big brother. That's Stank, Stink and Stunk behind us. It was a good time that lasted well into the evening.
Sunday: Cleared the ivy from the path to the lake and cleaned up around the fire pit. Hopefully, the weather will be good and we'll have our first fire of the season next weekend.

Stayed healthy, stayed away from drinking, ate well, and excercised. I even ran a couple miles once. I went on a about a 6 mile walk and on the way back it started raining, so I had to run the last 2 miles in. It made me realize I can still run. I kind of wondered, because I have had knee surgery and havent taken care of myself as well as I should have for the last few years. Well I see the light. I can still do it.

Friday: Cut grass, worked on the boat
May 7, 2018, 7:34 AM
|
|
Saturday: Couldn't go anywhere due to daughter of's dance that night. So layed around the house. Finished cutting grass. Went to the play my daughter was in. She was one of pied piper's little tap dancing mice. The play was actually really really good considering it was middle schoolers and high schoolers. One of the guys I graduated with asked me why we didn't have plays and #### when we were in school. Told him we didn't have that many fagoots back then. Just one. Todd. Now works at a hardware store.
Sunday: Round 2 of the play so nothing can get done since it's in the middle of the ####### day. This time though we leave right after daughter of's part is over. Get groceries. Pick up son of from in-laws. Got home, grilled, drank, kids played outside. Not bad.jpeg
Overall 5/10 due to no boat/fishing. Stupid art.

Spent the weekend in Boca Grande, FL for the wedding of close friends. Beautiful town on the gulf.
We flew in to Tampa and it was the first time I’ve been back since the National Championship. That brought back some good memories.
Hit up a couple good breweries. Went to Green Bench in St Pete on Thursday and Tampa Bay Brew Co before we flew out yesterday.
All in all a great trip 10.77 / 10

at least. There are only 4 or 5 restaurants on the whole island so you bump into the other crews quite often and we met people from Charlotte and Charleston.
The initials of our friends were JI and SG.

Pretty good to great to kinda chitty

Friday after work was a lack luster soccer practice. No one was really into it but whatevs. Afterward I went grocery shopping got home and made sech s on my gf and fell asleep.
Saturday morning I woke up and made more sech s then headed to the soccer game. Ended up tying the game 2-2 and I was happy to see some of the things we've been working on in practice makes their way to the games. I think we had a pretty lazy afternoon. All in all it was a pretty good day. That evening I got a text from Momof who was at IOP asking us to come down for the night so we hit the ground running and made the trip in 2:45 mins from Murderburg to parking at IOP. F yeah its gonna be a great Sunday.
Sunday morning we get up have some breakfast and read over to Ravenel to meet a buddy of mine. He takes us all over the harbor, Shem Creek, SI etc in his boat. Head back to Johns Island to pick up his gf and make our way to Folly. Ride around to the lighthouse and back the public ramp to doc and grab some grub. Stopped in at Taco Boy and the service was chitty so we dropped $5 on the table to cover an ice tea and sprite and roll up outta there. Walked over to Rita's for some late afternoon lunch. Head back to the loading dock in Ravenel to load up the car and head home. Parked beside me in the lot is a 2018 NSX. Pretty badass car and made the TL look like a Civic. Took pics but no mountains in background, so blah. Great day on the water. Hair looks like I've been riding on a boat at 50mph and I have more chapped skin from the wind burn than I do the sun.
on the way home we get about 25 mins out of Charleston on 26. I find myself in the left lane and we're rolling about 15-20 cars deep. I attribute this to a slow driver in both the left and right hand lane and we're all bumper to bumper at 80mph. Introduce asshat Lexus who's going to pass everyone in the slow lane and force his way into the left lane. As he's running out of room in his lane he slides into the left lane, his rear quarter panel rubbing the Saturn SUV's front fender directly in front of me pushing it to the median. The Saturn slows a bit and over corrects to get back on the interstate, does a 180 and slides off the shoulder of the road, rolls down an embankment and comes to a stop.
I quickly checked my rear view and side mirrors to make sure no one was in the right lane and pull over to the shoulder, watching the Lexus continue to make his way down the interstate. I was going to give chase if he didn't stop as 4 other cars had pulled over as well to check on the Saturn. The Lexus makes it about a qtr mile down the road and decided it best to not run. I walked back to the Saturn to find people pulling on doors to get the passengers out unsuccessfully and to see a small grass fire has started under the car. Yikes! As I got closer to the car the passenger door finally opened and a couple exited the vehicle as the flames grew around the front tire and engine bay. The driver is dazed and confused as f with a cut up hand while the passenger didn't know what planet she was on. A minivan pulls over and a trauma tech checks out the girl. Luckily he was passing by right after it happened.
The couple had been in Charleston for a funeral and were headed back to Charlotte. After they loaded the passenger up in the ambulance the driver was standing around talking to us trying to decide if he should head back to Charlotte w/o his "friend" b/c he was ready to get home to his wife. I patted him on his shoulder, told him good luck and we were back on the road. Got home, showered, crashed. Kinda of a chitty way to end the weekend.

Super Busy

Friday - took the day off to visit the school that the Youngest will go to next year. Then ate lunch with the wife and went home to pressure wash, cut grass, and start spring cleaning. Got sun burned as I thought it was a good idea to go without a shirt and without sunscreen. Forgot how white I am.
Saturday - Up early for 11+ miles, a little faster than last week but still felt sluggish. Lunch and more errands getting ready for the Boy's birthday party on Sunday. Copper Grill for dinner with Mom and Dad for Dad's birthday. Food was decent, got shrimp & grits. Had both Sexual Chocolate and Key Lime Gose on tap so I got a little drunj.
Sunday - Up early to clean up and finish prepping for party. Church then lunch then Lowe's to buy new outdoor furniture. Boy's had a joint b-day party, fun time, Tiger Cub came which was nice. It was a Tailgate themed party. Cookout with Brothers, Mom, Dad, and rest of family after party. Broke open a 2013 American Beauty for tasting. I enjoyed it, was drunk, got drunker. Got to drive my buddy's dad's tailgate van back to his house half lit. That was interdasting. Thank Tom they only live 4-5 miles away. Home to clean up and sleep. Up for work.

House goes on the market this weekend, so spend this past weekend (like the many before it) getting ready.
Thursday had inspector that agent hired to go a pre-sale inspection come by. A few minor things, but nothing too bad.
Friday - work, kids to parents house for night, dinner with wife-of at Cadwalladers very expensive, but very good. Got home and did some prep on window repairs needed.
Sat - Had 3 windows with rotten spots. 2 I knew about and 1 i didn't. Took out all rotten wood, applies rot sealer, cut pieces to match, formed in wood filler/epoxy..wait to dry and paint on Sunday. Washed all other windows, doors, exterior trim. Patched and painted 5 or 6 areas in house. Moved a lot of furniture prepping to stage the house. Take-out Mellow Mushroom for dinner (no MauldinT sighting).
Sun - Paint 8 windows on the outside, wash deck and screened porch areas. Clean-up backyard. Tired. Bed.

and part of me thinks it's one of those things that sounds good, but would get old after a while. Plus there aren't a whole lot of houses like we're looking for available and the ones that are are pricey.
Where we're looking in Anderson would be less than 30 min to work, Clemson, and Greenville.

somewhere near a golf course (I know, that narrows it down) but he really liked living there.
Where we lived in Clemson (off Issaqueena trail) I liked because if you wanted to be involved in anything Clemson, it was only about 2.5 miles away, otherwise, you could be there and never know the university was there.

Clemson's not real convenient if you don't work in or around Clemson. That extra ~ 15 minutes to the interstate gets old after awhile.

we've got a rising 3rd and 5th grader, so schools are important. The Anderson 5 school district (Concord Elementary, McCants Middle) seem pretty good. I need to look around Seneca some more...I'm guessing it's changed a bit since I was at Clemson.
We would like to live in the Greenville area, but don't want to commute through Greenville on 85 everyday.

Greenville every day. If you found something in say Powdersville it might be doable.
Seneca is nice, I'd prefer it over Anderson personally. Not to say Anderson is bad, we joke about it a lot but we've kind of settled in and enjoy it once we started branching out some. Pendleton really is some what up and coming as well, as long as you could get your kids in to the TL Hannah district. We know people with kids at Mount Lebanon elementary who like it.

The weekend is always a glorious thing when I'm doing
May 7, 2018, 8:55 AM
|
|
Mothra's work.
Friday, tried to squeeze in all my weekend chores into Friday evening since we were heading out of town to do some yachting on the coast Saturday. Delivered $4000.00 worth of Wells Fargo Tourney Clubhouse tickets to Joonyer and RH Sis because I couldn't use them Saturday or Sunday. Found a new pizza joint up the road and decided to try it, turns out it was pretty decent. Drank a couple of beers, finished off chores and finally flopped into the bed just before midnight.
Saturday, got up and drank coffee on the fly as I got ready to hit the road. Dropped of trash at the dump, pup at the kennel, then to Charleston. Made it to downtown and parked just after noon, walked through the farmer's market and sampled many delicious things, walked past Carolina Ale House and had to urinate, so we went in and grabbed a beer. Mrs. wanted a snack so we split the poutine fries, and they were freaking delicious. Probably never would have walked in there given all the choices in Charleston, but obviously we were divinely directed there by Mothra. Wandered around King Street for a while until our accommodations were ready. Did Airbnb in John's Island, and the space and the people we rented from were freaking AWESOME. Got dressed and then headed around the corner to the marina to board the yacht for the glorious martial union ceremony of 19B and 19She, officiated yours truly. It was an excellent ceremony and for the first time ever, I got to do the Princess Pride schtick at an actual wedding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEe1cTDbXHU Finished out the night at Seanachai, which was close to both ours and aerozeptallica and SharkGirl's crashpads, finally fell in the bed sometime after 1 am.
Sunday, slept in, got up and sat on the patio and drank coffee, then cleaned up and packed the car. Chatted with our very cool hosts for a little while, then headed downtown. Walked past Jestine's and saw that there was no crowd, so dashed in for the World's Greatest Meatloaf for lunch. Then headed down for a spin through the market, down to King Street again and to the car headed home. Unpacked, ran to get the pup, brought her home and gave her a bath, then off to the grocery store. Finally got home around 8, flopped into the Big Chair, watched Feat The Walking Dead, took the pup out to pee, and finally fell into a coma around 10:30.
Definitely a National Championship caliber weekend, a 20/10 slice of perfection, and would do again if 19B® and 19She will cooperate and get married on a yacht more often.

Mostly because I don't have the space for a pig farm to dispose of bodies.

Worked 8 hours Saturday. Went out to eat and had a cinco de mayo burger that had tortilla strips, pico, lime aioli and white cheddar with a Sycamore Rainbow Dust.
Worked 6 hours Sunday to push my weekly total to 72.5 hours. Went to a brewery and cooked cast iron pizza for dinner. Bought this, so I cannot wait to try it out next weekend for Mothers Day when mom and dad come into town.

Had taken Friday off expecting to make a trip to Charleston, but after a variety of shid happened that didn't end up panning out. Mowed grass Friday morning while waiting on wife to get hair done. Then we hit the lake after lunch. Took the puppies to a nice little beach close to the eagles nest, let them play around while we drank beer. Then rode the boat up to The Galley to eat. 9/10, delicious food as usual.
Slept in Saturday then back out to the lake. Again went to an island to let the dogs play. I have PTSD from what they did to the boat upon re-entry. Had a good time, but spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning mud off of vinyl and ever other surface on the boat. Grilled some steaks and called it a day.
Yesterday we figured we'd hit Clemson marina for lunch. Turned out to be windy AF, no slips open at the grill, so had to get it to go. Good idea that didn't end up working out. Headed on back to the house and just kind of piddled the rest of the day. I need about a month off to get caught up with everything around the house.

A little more specific

Fri - ran errands, mexican for dinner, karaoke
Sat - wife worked so had baby. Met friends downtown at Mellow Mushroom, MauldinT was not there. Watched derby coverage and drank beer while the kids ran around like hooligans. Wife suffered a badly sprained finger when she and 3 other nurses were transferring a patient to a bed and the beast rolled on her finger, so she was not in a good mood when she got off of work.
Sun - Ran a few more errands. Bought a new tent and sleeping bag for camping out after the bluegrass festival on Saturday night. Looking forward to it.
7/10 I guess, don't really care

Me and Petti started hatching a diabolical plan Saturday night to find you a gig in Charlotte. It's a move to consolidate the power base of professional alcoholism in the Queen City.

Friday-hung out with neighbors and drank way too much beer; stayed up until 3:30 am.
Saturday-Slept late because drank too much Friday night. Still felt bad in spite of drinking about gallon of water. FInally made it out to the boat around 1:30, left around 2 and rode up to Shem Creek and had lunch/dinner at Waters Edge. Got back around 6. Did absolutely nothing the rest of the day and was asleep probably before 11 and finally went to bed around 1.
Sunday-went to the marina and messed with the boat a bit, then came home and golf carted to Red's to have a beer and watch the Ohio navy invade us on rental kayaks. Also saw the boat in the pic, and if you've ever seen Luke Combs "When it rains it pours" video, that's the boat. Came home, washed the golf cart, and went and ate Mexican with the neighbors. Apparently the Mexican food was prepared with Golightly!, and I had no idea that they were prepping me for a colonoscopy (that I'm not having). I hope my organs haven't fallen out yet because its already been a very long morning that started around 5.

Friday: Nothing special.
Saturday: Let 15 YO son of drive me to Charleston to see FIL at MUSC. He did really well, but I wised up around Summerville and switched with him for the rest of the drive. As we approached Charleston, he admitted that he was glad we switched. Stopped at DQ Grill for a burger on the way home. Decided I'm done with DQ Grill, as the suck. Came home, watched Braves slide continue. Drank beer.
Sunday: Finally watched Thor Raghead and Black Panther with son of. Went to my mom's for dinner (fried chicken).
