Rattler, remember in ‘20 I said he’s good & would be Heisman nominee

in 2021 and he WAS getting that hype but ooops, he had lots of INT’s etc in 2021 and sat on bench behind 5-star freshman.
Now, he’s headed to SC where I think he will improve them 1-2 games worth and give them an extra needed spark but no Heisman nominee there either in 2022.
Saying, they got a quality B- to B+ rated QB and it’s gonna be big, for them that is if they can get better WR’er play.

Are you drunk? In what world is DJ average? He was the second worst QB in the country and the worst in Clemson history statistically.

He’s much better than what we currently have. He was benched for throwing INT’s only because they had another 5 star in wait. He can throw and run. The TE from OK was a serious upgrade for them as well.

I read up on what happened to Rattler this season. One of the the items of note that came up was that in the games Rattler played the O-line's performance was not good and they made changes that happened to coincide to when Williams was given the nod. Also note the the QB coach said the differences in performance were marginal, but enough for them to attempt something different. They shook the whole offensive team up. In programs that have realistic chances of making the play-offs they will sacrifice just about any player's future for the sake of getting there.
In the end it was a chitty deal for Rattler as he was getting to the end of his college years. So this guy might have had a season that was a little off and could bounce back to form. That could spell very good things for South Carolina
Still, I agree with others that even if they have a great season with Rattler it will be a one and done. It is unlikely that Carolina can come up with a follow up act at QB. For a young coach that needs a dramatic improvement, and fast, to help prove his credentials to future recruits this was a huge win for Beamer.
Doty can't stay healthy anyway. He'll portal to a lesser school or submit to his fate of being a back up. He has to know he has zero chance of making the pro's.

Pretty good assessment. Although I wouldn't say SC is one and done. Don't be surprised to see beamer turn the program around. Won't be at all surprised to see us lose some recruits to them. Their challenge will be overcoming uga.
Not a bad thing for us though. We need all the SOS we can get.

Spencer Rattler announces transfer to South Carolina
Former Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler is transferring to South Carolina to play for head coach Shane Beamer.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Rattler will join the South Carolina program with three years of eligibility remaining, though he'll be listed as a redshirt junior for the Gamecocks.
Rattler redshirted during his first season in Oklahoma and his second season doesn't count against his eligibility due to COVID.
During his time at Oklahoma, Rattler completed 361 of 515 passes for 4,595 yards and 40 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.
Rattler did his best work as a redshirt freshman in 2020 when he was named national freshman of the year by CBS Sports and first-team AP All-Big 12 after completing 214 of 317 pass attempts for 3,031 yards and 28 touchdowns with seven interceptions.
A former five-star prospect, Rattler was ranked the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2019 class, according to Rivals, when he signed with Oklahoma.
A Phoenix, Ariz. native and Pinnacle High School grad, the All-American Bowl selection, threw for an Arizona state record 11,083 yards in his high school career with 116 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns.

There are a few things you are missing from your assessment of Rattler.
The first being that he was benched during the 2020 season as well, but their backup was worse and so he kept getting more chances.
Also, the report can say whatever they want about offensive shakeups that helped Caleb Williams, but a blind man could see that everyone played harder on offense with Williams on the field vs Rattler.
Maybe there is some truth to the statements about students on campus and even many of the Oklahoma players hating Rattler.
I don't expect he will have that problem as much at scar because the students on campus, and probably the football players as well, would sell their soul for some wins at this point.
Rattler is a scumbag, but he will be surrounded by his kind at his new school so maybe it will work out better for him.

calling Rattler a scumbag was totally uncalled for. We should be better than that.
Everything else you said was spot on.
